Engine/trans: The goal was made to make sure that this vehicle was able to be used in the ‘real world’ with easy and performance driving…the power for this 1972 C-10 Fleetside has the new built 5.3 liter GM ‘LS’ V8 engine, picked for reliability with ease of maintenance, all GM parts are used in the build with the external presentation of this ‘modern’ fuel injected engine now presented to resemble a small block Chevy, see the GM Corvette finned aluminum valve covers, the horsepower is set to be in the 330++ range in the final setup, the very engine bay is just fantastic, the custom performance Doug Thorley ceramic ‘snake’ exhaust manifolds are connected to the very mellow sounding set of mufflers is a 2 1/2” dual aluminized system with under bed rear turndowns, the 4-speed transmission is a 4L60 E automatic with the overdrive unit, it is operated through the column shift on the tilt steering column, note the new Vintage air conditioning full complete system has the modern compressor and interior added inside ducts,

Running gear: with the goal of making a updated ‘resto’ classic pickup, the use of the rebuilt 4L60 E automatic transmission with 4 speeds and overdrive unit was chosen to mate with a full built high end solid axle rear end, the axel is a restored GM 12 bolt unit with new 3.42:1 Richmond gears and the Auburn positraction unit, this gives a perfect setup between local and highway driving, note this has both a front 1 ¼” sway bar and the rear end of the truck that has the 1 1/8” ‘Brothers’ sway bar, with the sway bar and the positraction, the front end has 2” drop spindles set up with the 3” drop springs, has the stock GM front disc brakes that have been full built and cross drilled, the rears are fresh finned drum units, alignment was done twice to get it right…this has a great stance and really drives like a modern truck,

Interior: a striking part of this build is the fantastic interior with the hand craftsman work on the expensive curved front seat with the Red leather and the houndstooth inserts in the new padding for a comfortable ride, this are matched along with the special door panels that was hand custom done by the famous ‘Kato Kustoms’ interior firm, they were originally from Texas and featured on ‘Iron Restorations’ on TV, now they have moved to the North Atlanta area, they only do top end custom work to the highest quality, the seats are set with the 3 point safety belts, see the red seat outsides and the center with the houndstooth that is matched exactly, the two tone door panels were done at the same install with the matching material, the padding is very firm, note the great upper dash cover is hand wrapped in red leather for a striking look, see the new green faced ‘Classic Instruments’ gauges that really set off the dash pod, the newly installed tilt steering column with the GM sport factory tri-spoked steering wheel looks great, all of this makes a great fit everyone like a modern truck, has the Custom Autosound new audio system,

Suspension/wheels/tires: the great looking wheels are the American Racing ‘Rodder’ lightweight aluminum alloys, they are 10 spokes with cast centers and the highly polished bright outside rims, the fronts are 20×8.5 and the rears are 20x10s, said rears are used the offset to fit inside the rear deck quarter panels, the tires are the new Nitto performance low profile blackwall tires, the front tires are 245/45/20 and the rears are 295/40/20…see how the truck suspension is well engineered with the rear frame being ‘C notched’ with the new shock location so the wheels fit nicely under the back fenders, has front 1 ¼” “ front sway bar, all new steering components, yields such a clean look and great handling,

Summary: very seldom does one find such a wonderful, new frame off, rust free, top mechanicals and simply a striking presentation on a 1972 C-10 pickup, now set up tastefully for the modern world, here is a new wave of classic vehicles for the both younger and older collector, just finished on this full new build just ready for Summer 2020, offered at under costing to replace at $78,950
