1966 Shelby GT350 Clone built to superior standards for the most demanding Mustang/Shelby collectors, a very, very rare production unit and now a superior Shelby Clone to mechanicals and power better than new with the mild street ‘resto’ upgrades with stock exterior, for sure a modern classic for those who want classic design with modern power…this is an excellent factory ‘K’ Code built from the San Jose plant ‘R’ production and a real factory GT, an original data tag shows as a beautiful correct Wimbledon White with the black standard interior, now with the Blue LeMans striping, just the exact cars that Shelby used for his California production…stamped aprons, core support, original detailed floors, very hard to find such really great numbers and great sheet metal and history!!! A simply fantastic rare numbered body and gorgeous paint along with a superior underchassis, very strong custom built 302++cid engine to high professional standards with full balancing, machine shop invoice, has the Edelbrock aluminum Performer top end, a real rare Shelby Aluminum high-rise intake manifold, Hi-Po exhaust manifolds that lead to the aluminized Shelby dual exhaust system, will show as detailed factory stock in the engine bay when finished, 335++ horsepower, over 340++ lbs of torque, has the new 5-speed /Tremec transmission, special made for Fraser Dante is a NASCAR quality full 9” positraction rear end, 3.50:1 ‘Motive’ gears, strong 3” tube for the rear end, slotted Wilwood brakes at all 4 corners, 1966 lower traction bars, working period tach, new alloy Shelby 15×7 wheels with brand new radials, or one can chose the correct period 10 spoke Shelby alloys, presented is the great solid correct red oxide underchassis, simply the finest Shelby uprated clone built from a very rare car…this car will outperform the stock 1965/66 Shelby GT 350 yet will look very factory, all the sheet metal appears to be ‘as factory’ and the original detailed underchassis is so very solid and prepared for driven show, the best 2+2 and the rarest that Fraser Dante has ever built as a culmination of our expertise, ready for Spring 2020, 

BODY: just a gorgeous Shelby Wimbledon White with amazing luster and presentation, has the full length Shelby blue stripes, here is a very rare and wonderful 2+2 with original, stamped fender aprons and core supports, original, very highly detailed floors, original quarter panels with only a lower patch panel in the right hand quarter, fiberglass with steel reinforced Shelby hood with hood pins, Shelby Lexan quarter glass, R-Code fiberglass front bumper, still has the rare Carlite glass in front, rear and side glass…see the Original Factory Data Tag (LINK), shows it was made in San Jose and sent to Richmond, here is a very rare piece that is really an investment grade car, see the photo LINK of Shelby himself with this factory car, 

ENGINE: the engineering and design of the engine has been set forth by the professionals at Fraser Dante, this is built to look stock Shelby under the hood, starting with a strong 302cid block for the upgrading and machine work, the high machine shop tech had the whole engine vatted, machined and line bored the block +.040 over (SEE THE LINK OF INVOICE), it was chosen by Fraser Dante for the complete build in that we wanted a stock look but more power and more cubic inches, the goal is to look like a driven show car under the hood but yield stronger than original along with reliable performance, the power is better than a 1965/66 Shelby that was rated at 306 horsepower with solid lifters that needed to be adjusted on the iron heads, now we this is at least 335++ horsepower and 345++ ft/lbs of torque, with the bored engine and the full balancing, (LINK) then with the aluminum performance hydraulic lifter heads with uprated rockers and stronger valve springs, then one add the very rare aluminum Shelby ram intake from the private collection of the Fraser Dante Mustang parts, the front end will also be lighter in driving and will cool the engine better, the 302cid engine was used for its strength, when Fraser Dante received this rare K code California production 2+2, it had a correct but not original K code matching #d engine installed, that unit is still available, since the goal was to build an uprated Shelby clone as a mild resto upgrade, this 302cid block was chosen, it now has received excellent full build to great standards , it was stripped and then sent to our top end high tech machine shop, then vated, bored to +.40 with the freshly built 302++cid to produce about 307cid, now fitted with the uprated ‘hypereutectic’ pistons for performance and light weight, then the whole rotating assemble was fully balanced assembly, full Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and full system, heads are fitted with the Performance Camshaft, Edelbrock 4V new carburetor just available, electronic ignition, Tri-Y headers, flex fan with fan shroud, Autolite battery, HD show cables, expensive finned aluminum Cobra valve covers, has the deep sump Cobra finned oil pan, under the hood, this is prepared to look like a 1965/1966 Shelby GT 350, engine rebuild, Plastigage photos (LINK), then for chassis strength, it features the one-piece export brace plus the Monte Carlo bar, like a very period piece,

INTERIOR: has the proper Shelby black standard interior…Tri-spoke wood Moto-Lita Shelby steering wheel, proper Shelby dash mounted working tachometer, black standard vinyl interior and door panels, fold down rear seat, emergency flasher system located in glove box, Shelby GT350 floor mats, front safety belts 

BRAKES/SUSPENSION: special rear end…all the K’ Code Mustangs and Shelby’s came from Ford with a 9” rear end…the original tubes were 3” tapering to 2 ½”…here great effort is expended to make the handing and stopping the breaking aspect to be better than the original 1965-6 Shelby’s, this very expensive set up is coordinated with our own shop and our NASCAR builder supplier, then special brackets are made by a Fraser Dante steel contractor for the brackets to hold the full 3” power coated shafts, this is now held in place by the full ‘U’ bolts needed for the full shaft…this is improved over stock with the full Motive clear cut 3.50:1 positraction gears…

The top, top braking system is the very desirable dual line 4-wheel disc brakes just installed, these are new uprated Wilwood slotted 4 wheel disc red brake system, we have used these expensive slotted and drilled rotors along that has the full units all new with the brakes redone set up for track handling, new KYB heavy duty shocks installed, brand new strong springs  in the front coils and the rear springs, has full alignment, a strong lowered Shelby suspension with these fresh springs, has the Shelby Heavy Duty front sway bar, also a under hood Monte Carlo bar just as the GT 350s had, the Shelby type alloy wheels with performance black wall radial tires,

WHEELS/TIRES: new alloy 5 spoke Shelby 15×7 alloy lightweight special wheels made by Scott Drake are just fantastic in weight and strength, mounted with new BF Goodrich 225/60/15 Radial TA tires, (LINK), or we could use the appropriate very correct and believed original Shelby factory 14” 10 spoke alloys in outstanding condition mounted with the Radial TA’s for a second choice,   

Summary: A fully prepared uprated modern Shelby GT 350 R Model Clone built from the ‘real deal’ San Jose ‘K’ code GT in the original famous Shelby colors of Wimbledon White…now this fabulous body and paint is set up with the very desired updates demanded by serious Mustang collectors today who love driving their cars… or Fraser Dante and just fantastic Shelby clone that is made from the very correct and very rare San Jose ‘R’ production and very correct ‘K’ chassis built as a GT from the factory and exactly like all real Shelby’s came from (LINK)…, when fully completed, a fresh 9” chuck with 3” tubes positraction rear end with 3.50:1 gears just built, this will really perform better than the original Shelby while maintaining all the appearance as factory, a joy to own and an amazing drive offered at $100,000
