1966 Mustang 2+2 ‘A’ Code production built as a 1966 Shelby GT 350 Clone, a just really striking black paint, wonderful great luster, see the original ‘Buck’ tag showing the build history (LINK), a very rare original body with terrific sheet metal, this came from a rare long term ownership going back to 1971, now a complete full black color paint that has the rear Shelby quarter side windows, has the fiberglass hood with tie downs and the Shelby side scoops, great emphasis on top mechanicals, fresh build of the 289cid hydraulic lifter engine, has all the proper date codes on the rebuilt engine, this has just great compression that is 143 to 149 psi just taken (LINK), engine with nice detailing Cobra dress-up kit, Cobra valve covers, uprated Holley 4v carburetor on the C6 intake, full dual exhaust system, the engine is so very crisp in the sounds, C-4 automatic transmission, excellent suspension with the Monte Carlo bar, 1” Shelby sway bar, restored radiator with fan shroud, the rare wonderful black interior (26) is believed to be a rare factory original, gorgeous repro Shelby wood steering wheel, full factory console, new carpet just installed with the rear fold down seat, the body is in really simply in top shape, all original panels, the underchassis is simply really amazing, all ‘as factory’ and so solid, factory red oxide, (LINK), factory rear end is updated to the just build 3.55:1 positraction unit by a top NASCAR shop, fresh GT front disc brakes, the mechanical work and new updating of cosmetics done in the Fraser Dante shop preparing for Spring 2021, (LINK) here is a 2+2 ‘A’ code with very top quality that appeals to a worldwide audience, new fuel tank (LINK), original build sheet found under rear seat (LINK), new carpet to be installed over solid floors (LINK),

ENGINE: here is a proper 289cid engine with all the important ‘numbers’ signs of being rebuilt from viewing the heads, then hearing the very crisp sounds, seeing the very important ‘numbers’ that are seen with the attached (LINK), this shows all the date codes match the building of the 2+2, this is restored with an uprated Holley 4v carburetor mounted on the factory C6OE intake manifold, then tuned, the hydraulic lifter heads sound really good, all the spark plugs are new, belts and hoses, new clamps, this has the full dual exhaust system, this should be estimated 240 horsepower range, this has a beautiful Cobra fresh Cobra air cleaner with the hi-po air filter, valuable Cobra finned valve covers, the engine bay is a nice presentation, then all recently just checked at the Fraser Dante shop in Spring 2021, the full upgraded  expensive new strong DuraLast Gold battery with 750 cold cranking amps for great starting, has the new proper cables (LINK), the engine bay is detailed to MCA driven show presentation, the full tune completed is with new show Ford C5OZ spark plug wires, new Autolite copper core ‘45’ spark plugs (SEE LINK), the timing and valves are professionally set, 

oil/fluids: the fluids are fresh, the radiator flushed with fresh coolant to -20o, racing oil/filter: Special Valvoline high performance VR1 20-50 high zinc oil is added along with new filter for engine protection (LINK), note this step is the top racing operations, this quality oil that can only engines without a catalytic converter, this was done and driven, then checked in our shop and the oil and dipstick are crystal clear,

Costs for 2020 upward: as a builder/restorer of classic Mustangs, our parts supply stream is either cut off or limited supply, our restoration parts and costings are very much higher, the build costing of these quality Mustangs is higher, having been in business for many years, Fraser Dante has a large stock of parts that cover a lot of our needs, we run a professional shop with full time staff along with expert subs that have worked with us for years, values of top quality classic 1965-1966 convertibles and 2+2s Mustangs are strongly climbing,

brakes/rear end: in order for great stopping ability, now this rear end is upgraded with a fully rebuilt, expensive rear end gear that is just built by our NASCAR technical shop in Mooresville, North Carolina, the rear end ratio of the chunk we are using is the 8” 3.55:1 positraction rear end with all new gears and bearings, axle shafts are also checked, this is most expensive operation as this full axel is taken and picked up from Mooresville, the home of most of the NASCAR teams like Penske, our builder does full suspensions and runs a couple of teams out of this shop…great effort for top quality, photos will be posted of the final rear end build,   

Summary: a real restored factory 2+2 that is set up for top Driven Show, just striking…many historical documents plus all the ‘numbers’ show the great build and the fine history, the new restoration work that includes the new rear end and full braking is being accomplished at the Fraser Dante shop for Spring 2021, set up as completed with final road testing, offered at $58,000
