1965 Mustang ‘C’ convertible finished as an uprated ‘GT’ with many desired options and a fresh built engine for a top Driven Show presentation that is completed at Fraser Dante, this car is top quality for outstanding build for the demanding current collector who insists that their car perform outstandingly as well as being looking good, has the full upgrades for extremely top condition with really excellent mechanicals that are documented, the cosmetics yield great ‘eyes’, important build aspects include the rebuilt uprated 289cid/4v engine with the full documented machine shop work with line boring and all new internals, then the engine was hand built in the Fraser Dante shop, has the 4100 restored 4v carburetor, uprated exhaust system, finished in the terrific factory Caspian Blue Metallic paint with great show luster, GT white side striping, blue/white Pony full bucket seated interior, equipped with the full working air conditioning system and other desirable options, this car has been upgraded to GT specs with many aspects even better than factory new, now the 289cid is fitted with the 4v 4100 carburetor and intake, brand new ‘K’ code exhaust manifolds, full new aluminized GT full ‘H’ pipe exhaust system, would guess today to have approximately 270hp with these upgrades, 4-speed transmission with new Hurst shifter, brand new heavy duty ‘RAM’ clutch system, this build includes front fog lights, dual exhaust rear valence, great very straight body, very desired build and color combination all over the world, this has Ford working air conditioning system, expensive uprated Borgeson variable ratio power steering system is installed by Fraser Dante, brand new Stainless Steel Corp GT front disc brakes just installed, rebuilt factory full rear drum braking system, new and hard to find working 1965 6000 rpm Rally Pac, full dash redone, seat belts, nicely detailed inner floors and very solid snow quality underchassis, new 1965 show styled steel wheels with new dual redline 205/70/14 B.F.Goodrich radials that have 1300 miles on them, top suspension, fresh shocks, heavy duty Shelby front sway bar, Retro Sound’ radio-iPod system, white power top, the now detailed very solid floors are important for top quality, we built this car for a serious collector who did some 1300 miles in 18 months from the Spring of 2017 until November 2019 when Fraser Dante got the car back, then we went through the whole car again to prepare for Spring 2020, this color combination is the top one for everyone everywhere, men and women of all ages just love this look in the early Mustang and this Caspian Blue car is a featured car in the Mustang chronicles, top condition to drive and enjoy while ‘looking good, 

Engine: here is a ‘for sure’ engine just freshly built with only 1300 miles, since the work was done in the Fraser Dante shop, we know said 289cid engine C5AE casting that shows that that is full unit was rebuilt to be used as a top driven show car, the goal on this gorgeous 4-speed car was to improve the performance, this engine was pulled out of the car and gone through for Summer 2017, sent to our machine shop, the engine is vated, line bored, then fitted with +.040 over uprated dished pistons yielding about 301cid today (SEE LINK), these were selected to use along with the reworked heads to use modern 93o octane gas, this engine was fully checked with the lower end by Fraser Dante as shown in photos (LINK), then the lower end crankshaft was checked by our senior builder with the plasti-gauge to insure proper oil clearance on the crankshaft bearings, then this has new fresh bearings, to freshen the engine for top reliability, now installed are a new water pump, expensive $111 timing cover chain and new gears for excellent timing, all new full excellent FelPro gasket set was used throughout for top quality seals, a new oil pump installed, a just ‘perfect’ break in mileage for a newly built engine,

Uprated Camshaft: A new full and uprated Performer’ hydraulic Edelbrock #2122 camshaft and full lifters kit, designed to be operating in a range from 1500 to 5500 RPM, this High Energy camshaft provides excellent mid-range power with a mildly rough and cool idle, Cam and Lifters with set of 16 sure seat Valve Springs, 1.354 outside diameter with 90 lbs seat pressure (SEE THE LINK OF THE CAM AND KIT), approximately as much as 270hp with these upgrades, the intake system has been upgraded to GT specs with the 4v restored Autolite 4100 carburetor set up completed by the senior Fraser Dante tech mounted on the stock 4v intake,

valve covers:  to make this engine look like the top-quality show performance engine it is, a brand new set of very expensive brand new COBRA OPEN VALVE COVERS that are just installed with the FelPro gaskets, these Cobra Open finned valve covers are correct for such a powerful engine and very expensive, the engineering accomplished on the heads and cam is Fraser Dante’s ‘Gold Standard’,

Important exhaust note: the following report shows that the engine just pulled, then the brand new uprated ‘K’ code exhaust factory manifolds and keepers installed, the brand new aluminized GT 2 ¼” full ‘H’ pipe exhaust and dual muffler system, all new hangers and bushings, great sound and performance, proper GT rear valence, this took a lot of professional time and money for this exhaust build,

has the 4-speed top loader C5AR transmission with wide bolt pattern, fresh lubricants, new uprated Hurst shifter linkage installed for positive shifting, brand new heavy duty ‘RAM’ clutch system (LINK) is installed, has the turned flywheel and new ring gear, this is the best clutch system available for the 289/302 to use fir top street performance on the market, installed by the experts at Fraser Dante,

Cooling: this is enhanced with the excellent uprated 3 row radiator, has now all proper show hoses and new clamps, fan shroud, after the first 1300 miles of usage, now  the fresh new coolant just flushed and added,

Driveshaft: the driveshaft is taken out, sent to a specialist, balanced with new bearings, detailed and reinstalled (SEE LINK), this operation is expensive and dramatically improves smooth driving, 

the full tune: when the engine build was completed, then all new factory correct show hoses and clamps, now included in the new full professional tune just completed is new ‘Spectra Premium’ Ignition and Engine Management Distributor (SEE LINK), points and condenser, then set up with the new show Ford C5OZ spark plug wires, new Autolite copper core ‘45’ spark plugs (SEE LINK), the timing and valves are just professionally set so this has the full fresh ignition system,

now also just now installed by Fraser Dante at delivery is an expensive newly installed strong DuraLast Gold battery with 750 cold cranking amps for great starting, has the new proper cables (LINK), this car has the full testing by the staff of Fraser Dante is just completed, the engine bay is detailed to MCA driven show presentation, note the Cobra chrome valve covers and the proper air cleaner with the hi-po orange air filter,

racing oil/filter: Special Valvoline high performance VR1 20-50 high zinc oil is added along with new filter for engine protection (LINK), note this step is the top racing quality oil that can only engines without a catalytic converter, 

Interior: to set off the desired Nightmist Blue exterior, a very gorgeous blue and white full Pony bucket seated interior with excellent seat padding is in the car, a new white hump hugger center console is installed, has the full Pony door panels installed to match the interior, all of the proper inside door handles are used, has the blue carpets, the extras to enjoy in the interior include the Ford working air conditioning system, new expensive and hard to find working 1965 6000 rpm Rally Pac, the redone dash is very nice, nice matching safety belts,

Braking/Suspension: for both great stopping and being authentic, this has a full set of the expensive brand new Stainless Steel ‘GT’ manual front disc brakes just installed  this had the ‘C’ code drum brakes when the car was acquired by Fraser Dante, now these uprated brakes that are installed are the best available just for the GTs and for top notch restorations, the SSBC system is the best on the market, has the all the full hardware kit is used to insure great stopping proper ‘GT’ large oval master cylinder, has the full rear factory drum brakes just checked with fresh hardware for safety, (LINK), this the same hardware that Fraser Dante used with the Charlie Kemp 1965 GT 350R Model that sold for $984,500, these are the best brakes that were legally allowed to use on the car for authenticity,

Wheels and tires: new 1965 show chrome styled steel wheels with center caps and lug nuts are used with said 1300 miles on them, these chrome wheels are polished, have red center caps, proper lug nuts, then the expensive new dual redline 205/70/14 B.F.Goodrich radials, they are fully balanced, has top suspension, fresh new shocks, good springs, note that the 1” Shelby HD front sway bar with bushings is installed (LINK), full alignment just completed,

History: found from a fastidious collector in North Carolina who had for a number of years, such good care in his ownership that he and his wife built a serious garage just for this car and his cruiser Harley, note that the ‘ 65 and ’66 Mustang convertibles are very collectable everywhere, then Fraser Dante acquired the car in 2017 and did the described work, it was sold a serious collector friend of Fraser Dante who did some 1300 miles and even had a local shop work in sorting out the new build, then had until November 2019 when it came back to Fraser Dante,

Underchassis and floors: here is a top area of this Restored 1965 Mustang convertible, with professional work that was completed after many ‘hand’ hours, then documented terrific a full show red oxide underchassis, the floors are in fine shape with only some minor footwell replacement work through the years, great torque boxes, all the uprating now completed out of the Fraser Dante shop, these many hours spent in order to bring up to top driven show standards!
