New updates: since the last owner was older and did not have the energy to do some maintaining of this fine car for a good while, he had a very minor left rear damage as backed into something, he had it fixed but not to our standards for 2020, now we now have done a complete paint job on the car with all the exterior trim first taken off at Fraser Dante before painting, the photos show the paint work in progress to confirm (LINKwith the final work completed, then the professional wet sanding and buffing at our shop to bring out the color, (LINKthen a full professional complete tune is completed, has the front added amber driving lights as well as the amber lower running lights, nice alloy wheels in great condition, now just installed are a brand new expensive Hankook Kinergy ST 205/70/14 top notch radials mounted and balanced on the later 14×7 Chrysler alloy wheels that the previous owner had chosen, these are light weight and look great as this are now just installed as this virtually sat for many years, (LINK) full nice proper Smith’s gauges in the factory hammered dash fascia, the running lights are checked for driving, all of the gauges except the tachometer work (we are not able to fix that issue) and the clock, here is a very nice look with the believed factory stainless trim on the car, then the underchassis is taken down with prepping to detail with many hours of hand work at Fraser Dante, the photos show the result, a real classic car art!

Engine/transmission: In 1966 the Volvo P1800S four-cylinder engine was updated to 115 horsepower, lots of low end torque, the top speed was 109 mph, this engine bay is just nicely detailed for driven show, this engine unit was rebuilt by the previous owner with the  excellent compression of 141 to 152 psi just taken (LINK), this is very strong!! the 4-speed transmission and the hydraulic clutch work just great, has a very good strong pull, new boot and shift handle, has the upgraded electronic ignition, redone radiator with new fresh fluids with coolant, new top grade oil just changed, note that this has a brand new professional tune, parts receipts show the new spark plugs, excellent new spark plug wires, distributor parts retailing for $143.26, this has the final setting of the lifters and valves are now set and done by a professional senior top tech at the Fraser Dante shop…at that time the uprated carburetor is set, we figure the recent tune costing is $275.00 (LINK), also see this notes of previous work (LINK), now  with the setup of the uprate power steering unit that is a ‘EZ electric power steering’ system that has 7-page manual for the system and installation (SEE LINK), with this upgrade along with the excellent chassis design, these cars are really fun!!

Brakes: here is a strong point with the brand new braking system is just installed by Fraser Dante for great driving, this has the front power disc brakes with universal brake booster that is stamped ‘ZE’…they are just checked with new dual front brake pads, new brake hoses and the lines checked, just installed are the rear drums have been rebuilt with Duralast top quality brake shoes, new quality fresh brake lines around, the photos show the work completed at the Fraser Dante shop, (LINK), this is so much fun and easy to drive, history shows these strong and gorgeous cars just run for years with their advanced braking design,  final Brake photos,

interior: here is a very, very nice area of this 1967 Volvo P1800S, the front bucket seats and the rear area are redone with very nice black vinyl with a very nice presentation, the carpet is a bright red as shown in many Volvo literature, said newer interior is just detailed, note that the well-designed industrial factory stylish hammered dash fascia that still looks so current and cool, this has the Smith’s gauges, they are the dual oil pressure gauges that work, the vertical factory water temperature that is a maybe reading on and off, fuel gauge, ammeter light, and uprated Sony AM-FM CD radio system all work, has the black really nice top of dash with the padded fascia along the black proper dash with the instruments placed in them and are nicely detailed, all of the gauges except the tachometer work, if wants, we can install another external tach,

History: is a very famous worldwide classic with very high design, the car is just like the cover of the Volvo 1800 book (LINK), the car was presented to the public for the first time at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1960, the P1800 (‘P’ for ‘Personvagn’) was ambitious for a growing but small carmaker like Volvo, the company was already making as many PV544s and Amazons as it could sell, so Volvo then outsourced final 1800 assembly to Jensen, the English company that constructed bodies for the Austin-Healey 3000, the firm Pressed Steel in Scotland produced many of the components, but the P1800 was quite the cosmopolitan affair for the early 1960s with the wonderful styling, some credited it to Frua in Italy, but it was actually the work of Swedish designer Pelle Petterson, these were then taken by rail to be assembled at Jensen in West Bromwich, England, in September 1960, the first production P1800 for the 1961 model year left Jensen for an eager public, then in 1963 production was moved to Volvo’s Lundby Plant in Gothenburg, the name was changed to 1800S (S) standing for Sverige or in English “Sweden”, in 2009 this design was officially recognized as with Pelle Petterson’s authorship and creation as a famous and timeless sports car design,

Although more high-speed cruiser than all-out sports car, the P1800 was well received here by the press, and Volvo received an extra injection of publicity when a white P1800 was chosen as Roger Moore’s ride for British TV show The Saint…this special car was in the loving care of an Atlanta gentleman since approximately 1983, it was his pride and joy, then age and health stopped him from driving, this is now updated in the Fraser Dante shop ready for Summer 2020,

Data tags: clearly seen in the engine bay, shown here are the data tags for the car production and the VIN#…see the  LINK, all signs that these factory tags are exactly correct, so this is a 1966 model and now this appears to have an 1967 original factory grill in very nice shape that was installed in the first restoration, the amber driving lights really set off the front end,

Suspension: with a design very advanced for the era and even exceptional for us today, see the dual lower excellent rear trailing arms in fine condition, has the horizontal cross track bar, nice black newer springs one can see were done in the first Atlanta restoration, has excellent tie rod ends and the front bushings, has both the rear and front uprated KYB shocks, LINK to underchassis,

Costs for 2020 upward: as a builder and restorer of classic Mustangs, we see that the parts chain supply stream is either cut off or very limited supply, when we get our needed restoration parts, the costings are very much higher than before, the value of the build costing of these quality Mustangs is climbing higher for sure, having been in business for many years, Fraser Dante has a large stock of needed parts for these cars that cover most of our needs, we run a professional shop with full time staff along with expert subs for specifics that have worked with us for years, in short, the values of top quality classic cars with good credentials are strongly climbing,

Summary: this is really a famous classic sports car with the iconic design and advanced suspension that has collectors all over the world driving them to shows and dinner, this has an uprated power steering system that makes this a dream to drive, now see that Fraser Dante has prepared the rare P1800 as newly described, the final work and prep with the great brakes around along with the brand new tune and set up are just now completed for Fall 2020…see the brand new photos of the wheels and new radial tires, this is now offered at the fair price of only $24,950
