1966 Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback in the dark Ivy Green ‘D8’ paint that is so popular with the continued love of the Bullitt Mustang both from the classic 1968 to the new 2019 Bullitt by Ford, this is a true A-Code VIN# stamped in the inner fender, has all the factory GT manufacturing items, has the believed original door data tag, presented with the factory GT package that includes the 289cid engine with 225 horsepower hydraulic lifter engine, 4V Autolite dated 6ZA 4100 carburetor, C6 dated intake, the dual exhaust system, proper GT engine kit with the air cleaner and chrome valve covers, MCA dress up bolts, all nicely detailed, working amber GT running lights, a factory 4-speed transmission, proper shifter, factory long console, the pretty Dark Ivy Green color with the white side GT stripes really is a terrific contrast with Ivy Gold ‘D8’ two-tone Pony interior, very nice factory GT wood steering wheel, the optional Rally Pac features the working gauges, the desirable brand new 1965 styled steel wheels are set forth with expensive new Coker B.F.Goodrich Silvertown 215/70/14 dual redline tires just look great, the underchassis is cleaned up with final work as a good ‘driver’, this detail and tune work is just completed by Fraser Dante, set for a top local show car that can be enjoyed, this is presented with the fresh GT disc brakes and no power steering as would have been the best choice for the GT of the era, note that the GT fog lights are in amber for a great look, there are many LINKS with the specific facts that are shown later in this report, a just a striking exterior presentation in a very desired color today,

GT OPTIONS CHECKED: all GT Mustangs must be an ‘A’ Code (225 horsepower 289cid with 4v carburetor and dual exhaust) or a ‘K’ code (271 horsepower 289cid with solid lifters, a 4v carburetor and dual exhaust), this 2+2 has the proper ‘A’ Code VIN # stamping on the inner fender, listed below are the checks for a GT that is believed ‘as factory’,

NOTE: other signs for a GT are shown in the LINKS that explain with exacting specifics, has a) the 7/8” front sway bar, b) the HCC AX steering box tab for the manual transmission, c) the strong front radiator core support that has the factory stamped holes for the GT lights, d) the lower chassis GT exhaust hangers, e)the important lower rear crush sleeves in the lower rear chassis, and f) that the front GT fog lamp lights work through the proper harness in the firewall, (LINK), this car appears thusly be correct in this aspects, has 4 wheel disc brakes just checked (LINK),

Engine: here is believed to be the original 289cid ‘A’ code GT engine still in the car, factory rated at 225 horsepower with the hydraulic lifter heads that are dated 6.d.21 and 6.d.26 on the engine (SEE THE LINK OF ALL THE NUMBERS), also very good dry reading compression from 124psi to 147psi across (LINK), rare Autolite 4100 4V carburetor, factory dated C6 intake, the dual exhaust system is sound, proper GT engine kit with the correct air cleaner and chrome valve covers, MCA dress up bolts, all nicely detailed with the correct factory blue engine color, this engine also has just had a fresh new water pump, new timing chain, full complete tune that includes brand new spark plugs, timing set, also the new full oil change and filter are just new, then the high show engine is detailed as just completed, note that this has the GT chrome air filter set up with the orange Hi-Po air filter,

Interior/underchassis: here is a very nice interior that matches the exterior to make a great presentation as well as being correct from the door data tag (LINK), note that this features a working Ralley Pac with tachometer and clock, it is a full Pony Ivy Gold ‘D8’ two-tone interior that is just like Ford made it (SEE THE FACTORY BROCHURE , this looks great condition with the matching 4 safety belts, the very expensive and correct wood GT steering wheel that is in very nice condition too, the very nice dash and dash pad are in great shape, the gauges work, this has a spare tire in the trunk, full trunk detailing just completed (LINK), the work on the underchassis shows that repairs have been done through the years, looks just fine for a driven show car as this lower area has been prepared with correct red oxide,

SUMMARY: the fresh mechanicals are just checked by the Fraser Dante professional staff, this car really looks extremely aggressive when you see it in person, it has lots of ‘eyes’, this is a very nice driven quality GT 2+2 with the chassis that is set to enjoy (LINK), and not be a trailed quality that is hard to enjoy! hard to find a 1966 Mustang GT 2+2 in this good mechanical condition that is very hard to get, copies of lots of factory Mustang promotional materials come for driving to shows, this exciting classic design that is loved by collectors today, now with the fresh tune and al the fluids makes a top driven show Mustang as well as a great ‘go to dinner car’, a GT 2+2 Mustang in a great color is very hard to get today, when finished, it is offered at only $42,950
