1966 Mustang Convertible presented with the factory Vintage Burgundy Metallic color that is freshly repainted to very high quality and done with a just terrific luster, a striking appearance with the very straight body lines of great original metal…these have a terrific contrast with the rich color to the lower stainless rockers and the nice 1965 styled steel wheels with whitewall radial tires, a fresh setup of the strong 289cid engine with excellent compression, all excellent components include the uprated Holley 4v carburetor that is set on a Ford C6 intake manifold, has the MCA Cobra chrome valve covers and the proper air cleaner with the hi-po orange air filter, Cobra air intake system, see the excellent compression in the 132 to 141 psi range just taken (SEE LINK), has the correct exhaust manifolds leading to a new dual ‘H’ pipe aluminized exhaust system with chrome exit pipes, highly detailed engine bay, new high powered battery just installed, full professional tune completed for great driving, great working C-4 automatic transmission with fresh upgrades just completed, restored driveshaft that is just completed, a very solid underchassis painted black (LINK), now is just installed are a brand new set of the Hankook Optimo P205/75/R14 narrow band whitewall radial tires installed by Fraser Dante as these would retail at $422 with fees plus tax, desirable 1965 styled steel wheels, the a terrific classic Mustang convertible that has many mechanicals upgrades so this can be enjoyed for the serious classic Mustang collector who demands a car that car drive as well as it looks, starting with a solid ‘C’ code convertible, this is now uprated to ‘A’ code engine build, has the fresh front and rear drum brakes and brake lines that are just now re-done by Fraser Dante with photo documentation, black safety belts, uprated new modern console added, very good new good suspension with new KYB shocks, great springs, very nice chrome trim, replaced, has the new dual outside mirrors just installed, all the lighting checked and works, see the Data Tag (LINK), as very nice black bucket seated interior, black carpet, safety belts, nice dash as factory with the very nice proper factory type black steering wheel, a nicely done trunk with a new fuel tank along with the mat and the plaid spare tire cover, has really just terrific black lower floors, newer black top and boot, it is believed all original body panels and now highly just detailed for show, long previous owner history, it is very hard to find a such top fresh quality presentation, 

Engine: the initial published specs of this famous 289cid with the bore of 4.00” and a short stroke of 2.57” are for 225 horsepower @ 4400 rpm along with the strong 305 lbs of torque at 3200 rpm, this free reviving engine is a great engineering piece, this is highly show stock detailed, here is a proper 289cid unit with very even compression of 132 to 141 lbs in a dry cold reading just taken (SEE LINK), has the casting of C5AE-6015-E, with the date code of 4c3 leading us to believe that this is a correct 289cid unit but not the original engine that was rebuilt in the restoration, has the uprated Holley 4v carburetor that is mounted on a factory C6 dated Ford intake, to deliver proper fuel that is clean is now with a new fuel tank has been installed, the carburetor linkage set up is just checked by Fraser Dante as this really has great smooth power, the engine has the new MCA Cobra kit with chrome air cleaner and chrome valve covers and gaskets just installed, this has standard exhaust manifolds that are connected to an expensive brand new 2” ‘H’ pipe aluminized dual exhaust system that is custom fitted with new hangers and new mufflers with expertise, this nice exhaust system has the dual pipes extending under the rear valence with tasteful chrome extensions, see the photos of this nice show quality system (LINK), the bay is just nicely now set up for driven show,

Transmission/driveshaft: this has the desirable C-4 green dot 3-speed automatic transmission, fully checked in the Fraser Dante shop, a new flex plate clutch system was added, with parts and labor, this is a $700 retail job in our shop, new fluids are added, then road tested to check all the systems, makes this easy to drive, As Fraser Dante did the full check in the shop, we discovered that the original driveshaft was worn out, now fully restored by our top quality sub is the fully proper driveshaft, has the new ‘U” joints, new slip yoke, driveshaft is then balanced, this process is a costing of some $750 with the labor in and out and taking to our sub, (LINK), now driving the car is smooth without vibration, now also just installed is an expensive new strong DuraLast Gold battery with 750 cold cranking amps for great starting, has the new proper cables (LINK), this car has the full testing by the staff of Fraser Dante is just completed, the engine bay is detailed to MCA driven show presentation, the full tune completed is with new show Ford C5OZ spark plug wires, new Autolite copper core ‘45’ spark plugs (SEE LINK), the timing and valves are professionally set, 

oil/fluids: the fluids are fresh, the radiator flushed with fresh coolant to -20o, racing oil/filter: Special Valvoline high performance VR1 20-50 high zinc oil is added along with new filter for engine protection (LINK), note this step is the top racing quality oil that can only engines without a catalytic converter, this was done and driven, then checked in our shop and the oil and dipstick are crystal clear,

history: here is a show car history with the previous title going back to the last family in 1971, lots of loving and expert care for many years, then this was found by a real expert Mustang friend of this writer, he is very knowledgeable, then to Fraser Dante, this has the original Data Tag (SEE LINK),

wheels/tires: now just installed on the car are the desirable and now hard to get are the 1965 styled steel chrome one piece 14×5.5 wheels with red center caps and proper lug nuts, these wheels are striking and do not have a trim ring to fall off, then just put the brand new set of the Hankook Optimo P205/75/R14 narrow band whitewall radial tires installed mounted and balanced by Fraser Dante as these would retail at $422 with fees plus tax, note that many people sell classic cars with older tires (SEE LINK), the spare tire is a steel wheel with a black radial tire, there is a proper trunk mat and a plaid spare tire cover, has a service jack, here another recent expense for looks and driving safety, 

interior: has the very nice restored very crisp looking full Black bucket seated standard interior, the seats have great padding, has 4 black safety belts, has proper door panels and with nice hardware, note the brand new uprated console that is now installed and really popular today, this unit is $160 today, looks great and works well with the cup holders, the dash bezel is new, new padded upper dash pod, a very nice new black full carpet, a brand new set of rubber floor mats to protect the carpet, has the desirable stock black factory steering wheel in just wonderful condition, the horn blows, a very nice black proper great looking top with excellent back window, the bows have been painted correctly in black, has a black boot, the trunk is in great condition with nice paint inside, 

Presentation: has just great ‘eyes’ for fun driving, all the stainless trim around the 1966 Mustang is great including the side ‘fingers’ and all proper Mustang emblems, optional front hood stainless trim, the stainless trim around the front tinted glass windshield is in exceptional condition, the windows that roll up properly, the standard black bucket seated interior is very nice, note the factory very nice steering wheel, nice proper black carpet…has the front tinted windshield,   

Summary: a very nice restoration for the driver wanting to drive to a local show or go to dinner with the final prep work at Fraser Dante just completed, nice famous detailed 289cid with the 4v set up and the expensive aluminized ‘H’ pipe dual exhaust system with new mufflers, fresh C-4 automatic transmission, new driveshaft, the build with mechanical upgrades and great new braking, a highly detailed throughout, just terrific body and chassis, now completed for Summer 2020, fairly offered at $36,950
