1966 Mustang Restored Driven Show Convertible that is set up for very striking appearance with lots of just expensive excellent desirable mechanical upgrades for top performance and great handling, this couples with the just professional re-painted in the pretty Arcadian Blue original color, great classic luster, lower stainless side rocker moldings, the full brand new professional paint for top cosmetics is just completed for late Spring 2021, here is a highly original bodied car with great attention to the current upgrades for both cosmetics and the improved top driving mechanicals, now this terrific Mustang convertible has the new Tremec 5-speed transmission with the Hurst shift linkage, this has the rare correct bench/bucket two tone blue interior, tinted windshield, day/night mirror, has the new tri-spoke Shelby steering wheel that is mounted on the desirable uprated tilt steering column, the car is ‘as made’ color and body from the factory with the original door data tag to confirm (SEE LINK), also has the rare inner fender ‘Buck Tag’ that shows the factory build information (LINK), this now has better than stock running gear, has the rebuilt believed original 289cid engine with the C6 dated block and C6 dated very clean heads, rebuilt and appears to be ‘as factory’, this car came off the production line July 31, 1966, the engine cast date is July 1, 1966, very strong and just excellent compression between 146 and 155 PSI (LINK), uprated ignition with the Pertronix 2 kit and coil, the carburetor has been replaced with the expensive modern Holley Sniper 550-516 EFI kit that gives more power and ease of operation, this is mounted on the C6 intake, has the new electric fuel pump that is mounted inside in gas tank with the covering of said tank inside the trunk, has the upgraded aluminized dual GT exhaust system, a new 700 CCA battery just installed with new cables, has really the very nice body has the proper steel panels that is just the car, has a newer two tone blue bench fold down interior just like the fac tory used on the data tag, 4 Ford safety belts, a brand new blue carpet is installed, new just excellent new black power top, the history shows this was restored initially in the early 1990s, there is an enormous file of many receipts in the large file, then additional work in the 2018-2020 period with then a lot of additional mechanical work just done by Fraser Dante in the 2020-2021 period, the new desirable Borgeson power steering system has the Ford power steering pump, great suspension has the new tie rods, tie rod ends and new bushings were replaced, has great stopping abilities with the new expensive SSBC 4-wheel disc brake system, now Fraser Dante has added the larger 1” Shelby sway bar for excellent handling, heavy duty springs, this is a great addition for safe driving, important note: there are the attached videos just taken on November 17, 2020 showing driving performance and the great driving abilities (SEE BELOW),

Known history: here is a car that was found by Fraser Dante, we loved this pretty factory color as this was painted a few years ago, then driven a bit, the man we bought the car from said that he bought it from the second owner, see the photo and the breakdown of the factory data tag to confirm the authenticity of the original build of this nice 1966 Mustang convertible (LINK), this is then with the many initial described mechanicals upgrades were done, there is a very large file of receipts documenting lots of the work and parts that go with the car, now this was initially finished with the doors being a very slight shade off, as this 1966 Classic Mustang convertible had so much effort in the build when the mechanicals were finished, then Fraser Dante now is doing the final ‘getting up’ with the brand new expensive Arcadian Blue period paint, just a great looking as the color is custom mixed with a deep Blue appearance to enhance the gorgeous presentation, this color also contrasts to the lower rocker moldings, new carpet install over solid floors painted in red oxide (LINK), interior refurbishment (LINK) items like the new excellent 4-wheel disc brake system is a terrific added upgrade, the new radial tires and 14×7 styled steel wheels along with the new Shelby front sway bar and bushings (LINKjust added are great for the performance and safety,

Paint: the very period and great looking color has just been now prepared with the fresh great appearance with the final prep that includes the professional brand new paint that is done, as this was initially finished with the doors being a very slight shade off, we realized that this 1966 Classic Mustang convertible had so much great effort in the build when the mechanicals were finished, then Fraser Dante now is doing the final ‘getting up’ with the brand new expensive Arcadian Blue period full paint, all the trim is removed first at Fraser Dante, so then a top notch complete full paint is done, the hood is taken off as is the trunk lid, hand sanding by a young professional shop, then we are just presenting a great looking appearance as the color is custom mixed, the goal is a deeper Blue striking color to enhance the classic body with the simply gorgeous paint presentation, it is very hard to accomplish today such hand work by craftsmen to with great luster, then after the paint, the final high speed show buffing is accomplished, this work is most expensive today as the car is show prepared, 

Note on build costings starting in 2020: please understand in the  world today, as a builder and restorer of classic Mustangs, our parts chain supply stream is either cut off or in very limited supply, hard to get restoration parts, our costings are climbing, wait time for parts extended, our top quality build costing of Mustangs is higher, Fraser Dante has a stock of needed parts that cover a lot of our needs, we run a professional shop with full time staff along with expert subs that have worked with us for years, values are climbing for quality,

Engine specs: here is a very strong area of this restored 1966 Mustang convertible that is set forth for top, top driving abilities, with a really great proper very strong 289cid engine that was rebuilt as was done by the last owner as was told to Fraser Dante, then this was confirmed in our shop with just excellent compression, very clean rocker arms shown, this rebuilt believed original 289cid engine with the C6 dated block and C6 dated very clean heads, all rebuilt and appears to be dated ‘as factory’, see the attached sheet with all the ‘numbers’ (LINK), this car came off the production line July 31, 1966, the engine cast date is July 1, 1966,  has the uprated ignition with the Pertronix 2 kit and coil, the carburetor has been replaced with the expensive modern Holley Sniper 550-516 EFI kit that gives more power and ease of operation, a fresh build 289cid engine with a really great mellow sound, has excellent strong compression of 145 to 152 lbs. in a dry, cold reading taken by Fraser Dante (LINK), a show presentation, has the MCA Cobra chrome valve covers and the proper hi-po air cleaner with the hi-po orange air filter, Cobra air intake system, fresh hoses and clamps for the radiator system, has a restored uprated 3 row radiator, aluminum overflow tank, a metal fan shroud is added for better cooling, the coolant checked, the full fresh professional tune completed in the Fraser Dante shop with the final timing just set, (LINK),

Racing oil/filter: Special Valvoline high performance VR1 20w50 high zinc oil is added along with new filter for engine protection, (LINK) said oil gives the proper zinc for the lubrication of the engine, note this step is using the top racing quality oil that can only be used on engines without a catalytic converter, very few shops use this top quality oil that protects the engine so well, 

Wheels/tires: here is an area that is really expensive and hard to get wheels and tires just installed, this is most important in 2021, brand new expensive and very hard to get upgraded 15×7 styled steel wheels just installed, these are set off with the proper chrome lug nuts and the hard to get black center caps, the new tires are the 215/60/R15 B.F. Goodrich white lettered Radial TA’s, look and work perfect with the strong springs, these wheels are very hard to source today are simply very hard to get today, they are expensive and took us four months to get, the tires are mounted and balanced, looks so very nice and just drives super! The trunk is neat and tidy, has the side proper inner wood covers, correct trunk plaid floor mat, the spare has a steel factory wheel, a spare tire, jack and lug wrench,

Interior: here is a beautiful area of the car, this has a rare newer two tone blue bench fold down interior just like the factory used on the data tag, the real stitching and the quality padding this writer to believe this was an early factory quality replacement that is impossible to get today, matches the data tag…has 4 Ford safety belts, now a brand new blue carpet is now installed, has a tinted windshield, day/night mirror, has the new installed expensive tri-spoke wood/aluminum Shelby steering wheel that is mounted on the desirable uprated tilt steering column, a top expensive full installation that is desirable, ‘Retro’ uprated radio system, 

Underchassis: note that this has a great all the steel presentation on the underchassis that is now in just top shape, ready for safe driven show quality, only the floor footwell pans are changed, they were expertly replaced as it normal in such a quality build, all very solid and rust free, all work is very nicely done, then a protective black paint covering is just applied by Fraser Dante to make sure this chassis remains in very solid condition, the torque boxes are just terrific and ‘as factory’, one can see the photos of full floors and how really nice they are, (LINK),

Summary: the very period and great looking color has just been prepared with the fresh appearance with the final prep…includes the professional brand new paint just done, hard to accomplish today with great luster, high speed show buffing, (LINK), the additional superior mechanicals that are upgraded are very expensive to buy and install, a very, very nice driven show presentation for Spring 2021, has great running videos, an excellent file of receipts before Fraser Dante acquired the car and brought it to this final stage, Fraser Dante is happy to discuss this top performing 1966 Mustang convertible with our customers, offered with all the new upgrades, the stock exterior with wonderful paint luster, offered at $48,950
