1965 Mustang convertible finished in very great looking Rangoon Red that is just now highly detailed, just set up for the collector who wants to drive a great Mustang with strong performance, full correct 1965 black bucketed seated interior, black power soft top, nice restoration with fresh work just completed for late Fall 2019 with excellent past documented history, was a ‘C’ code production car with said 289cid with the uprated engine build with a stock looking engine bay, has the Edelbrock ‘Performer’ aluminum intake and Holley Avenger 4v carburetor to ‘A’++ Code specs, a ‘Comp Cam’, roller rockers, an expensive Cobra ‘Open’ valve covers for the full show under hood presentation, Tri-Y headers leading to a dual exhaust system, 235++ horsepower, all new Pertronix ignition, new spark plugs and new plug wires, uprated HD oil/filter, Ford power steering system, brand new ‘Ram’ heavy duty full clutch system with turned flywheel just installed by Fraser Dante, new belts and hoses, 4-Speed T-10 transmission, correct shifter, nicely detailed black underchassis, excellent history with many receipts and photos in the file shown later in this report, terrific chrome, show 15” Mustang styled steel wheels, expensive 205/70/15 brand new Yokohama radials just now installed, here is an important addition that is important items on a classic car, note the brake lines are replaced with four corners being new brakes and hardware, new ball joints, excellent handling with the large front Shelby sway bar plus the rear sway bar, Mustang upgraded under hood suspension bracing, a really nice full black bucket seated interior, has 4 uprated safety belts, correct restored black dash and black factory steering wheel, full factory long console is well done, a very nice presentation, a really pretty paint with nice luster, lower stainless rocker moldings, excellent stainless windshield moldings, new expensive tinted Carlite windshield, additional column mounted tachometer installed, great underchassis that features the lower body ‘pinch welds’ that are very straight and nice, this car is finished to a high degree of top mechanical expertise and desired handling upgrades that include the uprated 1965 Styled Steel wheels in the 15” size and brand new expensive radial tires just installed that go along with nice cosmetics of a car, all fresh work is just now completed by the Fraser Dante shop to yield a top classic with great ‘eyes’, here is a fresh second round of restoration from a professional shop,

Engine: here is the perfectly working upgraded 289cid engine with history of lots of building with photos in the file and then recent maintenance, after an initial restoration, this car sat for a while and then just headed to the Fraser Dante shop to make a full fresh mechanical check ready for Spring 2020 car shows and great cruising, now this is just highly show detailed with the rebuilt ‘C’ code production car with said 289cid now being upgraded with uprated Edelbrock ‘Performer’ aluminum intake manifold and a Holley 4V Carburetor to complete ‘A’ Code specs, the engine builder states that this has the expensive Comp Cams roller tip rockers with the Comp Cams push rods for said new camshaft system, note that the heads are stamped ‘289 1965’ showing they are the believed original rebuilt and upgraded units (LINK), then this has the uprated and desired nickel plated Tri-Y header system leading to the dual exhausts that has the Turbo Tech Raptor mufflers that add power and sound great, the ‘A’ code dual exhaust rear turn downs are correctly done, a brand new expensive ‘Ram’ heavy duty full clutch system is just now installed by Fraser Dante, this clutch is set up with the turned flywheel just being completed by our sub and now a new ring gear installed with said flywheel, (LINK), this said clutch full system is just now installed is the one that Fraser Dante has great experience with, a brand new starter, Ford power steering system, has an expensive Cobra ‘Open’ valve covers for the full show under hood presentation, all new ignition, the very good dry/cold compression checked, readings in the 155-161 lb. range are better than stock are really terrific (SEE LINK), photos show said upgraded heads and how clean they are, the valves work great, sounds terrific,

Starting with the uprated Pertronix ignition, this now has a full tune just completed with new show Ford C5OZ spark plug wires, new Autolite copper core ‘45’ spark plugs (SEE LINK), the ratings on this engine should be over the factory the 235++ horsepower with a strong 315++ lb./ft of torque, these factory upgraded hydraulic lifter heads make this a strong and a reliable street performer,

oil/filter:  the oil and filter are now changed and upgraded to protect the engine, Fraser Dante uses very expensive special high-tech racing oil with added zinc content with Valvoline VR1 20-50 to insure long term performance, these early non-catalytic e engines need the heavy duty oil and the added zinc for lubrication purposes (LINK) for these older engines, this process is very costly and used only from shops who have top operations as Fraser Dante, 

history: this very cool looking and fun to drive 1965 Mustang Convertible has history that shows this had an initial full restoration in Virginia, in the ’98 to 2005 period there are $10,591 receipts in the file plus many photos of said restoration that are in a nice photo book, some are shown here (LINK), then it went to Dawsonville, Georgia to a collector who used as a show car for a few years, then acquired by a young family in North Atlanta, again enjoyed for a show car with the added cross front safety belts and the rear safety belts by said family, as they all grew up and many activities for the kids, the car then went to the professional shop of Fraser Dante in Fall 2019 for another refurbishment, we have just completed our work to bring this car to the Driven Show status with the upgraded suspension and strong mechanicals, lots of additional upgrading was done to go with the many other older receipts in the file for the past work plus all this new Fraser Dante restoration work, note that the underchassis is in top condition with really great floors and excellent torque boxes, photos show how clean they are, trunk fully detailed (LINK)

running gear: the whole new braking system is proper and newly tested and in terrific condition, the front and rear brakes are just rebuilt drums just like the factory and feature new hardware, (LINK) their fluids topped off, the whole system is just professionally checked at the Fraser Dante shop, again note that this has both the front Shelby sway bar along with the additional added rear sway bar, then this has under hood additional strut braces, all set up for great handling,  

interior/top: in the restoration process, this 1965 Mustang convertible has a very nice black power top with a black boot, it was done a few years ago and the car was always inside stored with top up so that is tight and fits great, nice plastic window, all the bows are detailed, the black standard bucket interior was fully properly redone in the first restoration and nicely presented today in both front and rear seats, this even has 4 sets of safety belts with shoulder belts being installed by the last owner, had the expensive and nicely restored with the full length factory console, this also has the restored factory black proper steering wheel that looks perfect with this stock presentation, the whole dash pod and the instruments are restored, nice black carpet with 4 Mustang floor mats, alsl the trunk area has a spare, jack and the proper plaid trunk mat,

wheels and tires: many classic cars are sold with old tires that are simply not what Fraser Dante does, now see that here is the very expensive wheel and tire combination, they are the upgraded 15” 1965 styled steel wheels, red center caps, chrome lug nuts and the polished chrome wheels, just mounted on them are the updated radials, they are the expensive brand new Yokahoma Avid Touring ‘S’ blackwall tires, the size is 205/70/R15…these are well balanced (LINK), that make this car drive just wonderful,

Summary: the excellent mechanicals are just now completed in the Fraser Dante shop, top braking system, brand new expensive radials, this is a most desirable car, the color combination is the top one for everyone, men and women of all ages just love this look in the early Mustang, the ‘ 65 and ’66 Mustang convertible are perhaps among the most collectable cars in the USA, William Ford 111, of the Ford family says in 2002 that “if I had to own a Ford, a red Mustang convertible would be the one”, now in late Fall 2019 this is ready to be driven and enjoyed, all fluids are fresh, we are happy to discuss this fun and nice restored 1965 Mustang convertible with the future owners as they will enjoy our professional approach, now offered at only $38,950
