1965 Mustang GT 2+2 ‘A’ code famous designed iconic fastback, this is a restored gorgeous Rangoon Red with the White GT side stripes, has just a really terrific body and great metal, rebuilt 289cid dated proper GT engine with just excellent strong compression, mild cam, Autolite 4100 dated 4v carburetor, C5 intake, produces the 225+ factory horsepower, very strong compression, Cobra engine kit, this hydraulic lifter engine is just great for the street, fresh set up and timing of the new distributor, all recent full mechanical work completed by the professionals at Fraser Dante, aluminized dual exhaust system, round case alternator, brand new black radiator hoses and new clamps for excellent cooling, engine highly show detailed, 4-speed transmission with correct shifter and linkage, very expensive new Drake alloy styled steel wheels with brand new Yokohama blackwall radials, here is a top Driven Show Quality Car with truly outstanding terrific very solid black painted underchassis, has the excellent factory body low pinch welds and the lower Ford factory stampings that are very hard to find in such fine condition today, great floors that are hand prepared, has a new Black Pony bucket seated interior that includes the proper dash pad with GT wood inside trim, ‘fold down’ rear seat with new carpet, great Ford Mustang ‘wood’ steering wheel, correct radiator cap, Fraser Dante just went through a lengthy process to ascertain the real GT factory construction, this is a rare 1965 Mustang 2+2 GT with exceptional floors and original body panels that will pass tough European standards and the demanding collector who understands quality, the Fraser Dante professional shop just spent a lot of time in working under the hood with expert fresh electronics to achieve top driven performance, dual outside rear view mirrors, has copies of Ford Mustang promotional material shown (LINK), a rare GT 2+2 car!!!

Engine: here is a most important items as for sure that this is a rebuilt, very strong proper engine that is set for top driven show, presenting under the hood as factory stock, see the attached sheet of the very outstanding specific engine specs…see the compression details showing 148 to 152 lbs in a dry cold reading just taken (LINK), this really is better than factory stock, from the information supplied and the sound, this has an uprated street grind camshaft, note that the brand new distributor is just installed with the timing and advance just correctly set, the senior staff just made sure this new unit works perfect, all this engine data proves this is a great rebuilt engine, so very nicely presented from the black block to all engine bay detailing, this includes all the bolts around the engine bay and radiator support, it is so very clean, this has the proper casting for the 289cid engine, the hydraulic lifter fresh heads are stamped ‘65’ (SEE THE LINK FOR THE SPECIFIC NUMBERS), has the Ford period C5 correct dated intake with fresh gasket, the carburetor is a rare and expensive Autolite #4100 dated C5AE, this has just had a fresh rebuild, many hours are just spent working on the top mechanical prep, the recent photos close up of engine shows the additional work to bring to a very nice engine bay show level, this has the GT ‘A’ Code exhaust manifolds that lead to the correct GT full dual aluminized ‘X’ pipe exhaust system with new mufflers out the rear GT exhaust tips, the professional tune effort just completed is so this very nice and rare car will perform well for Driven Show,

now also just installed is an expensive new strong DuraLast Gold battery with 750 cold cranking amps for great starring, has the new proper cables (LINK), this car has the full testing by the staff of Fraser Dante is just completed, the engine bay is detailed to MCA driven show presentation, note the Cobra valve covers and the proper air cleaner with the hi-po orange air filter, the full tune completed is with new show Ford C5OZ spark plug wires, new Autolite copper core ‘45’ spark plugs (SEE LINK), the timing and valves are professionally set, valve covers off (LINK),

Fresh full tune…oil/filter: the oil and filter are changed and upgraded to protect the engine, Fraser Dante uses very expensive special high-tech racing oil with added zinc content with Valvoline VR1 20-50 to insure long term performance, since today’s gasoline and standard oils have cleaners added, these early non-catalytic engines need the heavy duty oil for lubrication purposes (LINK), this process is very costly and used only from top operations as Fraser Dante…

History: this 2+2 came from a local Southern collector, was discovered by a serious Mustang expert who found this for Fraser Dante to do the final preparation restoration for Fall 2019…hard to find a Red early GT 2+2 in this fine condition, see the body and chassis information: a very important part about the classic Mustang and the unitized body is the great chassis, here is an extremely solid underchassis that is believed original and very top condition, now it is just show detailed with photos to confirm, has the Ford production stampings on the horizontal lower rocker panels, also it has the Ford stamped core support, believe even the original factory produced hood, both the fenders are factory stamped as are the quarters and the trunk lid, very fine body with stampings that are hard to find like this fine condition,

Suspension:  the ‘attitude’ and the stance of the GT is great, has really excellent springs, very good heavy duty shocks are now installed, this has the new upgraded Shelby 1” sway bar and bushings installed for just excellent handling, a proper GT 7/8” front sway bar with excellent bushings could be installed if someone so chooses, brakes just checked (LINK), solid underchassis (LINK), trunk just fully detailed (LINK),

Wheels/tires: just installed are the full set of the new very expensive Scott Drake styled steel alloy wheels in the 15x7 size, these strong lightweight wheels have the beautiful classic look but are better for top balancing and driving, has new chrome lug nuts and the red Mustang center caps are installed, Fraser Dante loves this application for our top quality Mustangs, if someone wants very stock wheels, then we will consider using a factory original styled steel steel/chrome 14x5.5 for shows if a customer desires, we will order these in for a customer…the brand new tires are period looking Yokohama YK740 GTX blackwall radials in the 195/65/R15…this great set up now installed with the balancing is about $2000 (SEE LINK), 

Interior: here is a really correct black Pony bucket seated interior, it is very rare as this has the factory stitching that is no longer available, this has the proper black Pony door panels, we figure this was initially done in the late ’80s to have such fine quality materials, very nicely presented, see the factory ‘wood steering’ wheel that is in exceptional condition…next see the dash facia that is the proper 1965 GT only wood trim on the bezel for this application only, note that this has fresh black carpet on the fold down rear seat, the chrome full hinge is very nice, black floor carpets, front black safety belts, all the GT dash gauges work,

Summary: a very nice fresh gorgeous restoration of a beautiful rare 1965 Mustang GT 2+2 fastback that is set up for top Driven Show with great professional mechanicals, all is  tested at Fraser Dante for Fall 2019, offered at a very fair $45,950
