History: this color combination is so very important that Fraser Dante has the saved historical Mustang history that has the exact color (SEE LINK)…this is so rare that this document is part of our library of important build facts…herby this is presented with the Original Data Tag showing how rare this production is, see the (DUAL LINK) of the actual door tag along with the Ford breakdown of the data numbers, this comes with the original Owner’s Manual with the proper VIN# (LINK), there is also a file that has restoration photos (LINK) that shows how solid the car before the start of the build a few years ago, this went into a serious collector for about 5 years, then ended up at Fraser Dante for a complete finish and updating of all the mechanicals and cosmetics for Fall 2019…this today is presented in top Driven Show condition with fresh restoration accomplished history shows not only the restoration but also being owned in very top collector hands…it is just a really terrific for the knowledgeable collector wanting such a rare combination,

Engine/mechanicals:  this is the correct 289 cid/4v Mustang engine as per all the factory date codes, the initial published specs of this famous 289cid with the bore of 4.00” and a short stroke of 2.57” are for 225 horsepower @ 4400 rpm along with the strong 305 lbs of torque at 3200 rpm, this free reviving engine is a great engineering piece, now this is highly show stock detailed, note that the date code of the car build of August 18, 1964 is before the GT that came out in April 1965,

This rebuilt unit is very rare as it is dated to the build of the car…as close to ‘matching numbers’ as possible, the C5AE-6015-E block is dated 4.h.1 and the heads are both 4.g.22 and 4.h.14, all correct (SEE THE LINK OF THE NUMBERS), has the excellent very even dry cold reading compression from 135 psi to 141 psi across (SEE LINK), since this was in a collection for some time, these figures will increase has a new Edelbrock #1404 500cfm manual choke carburetor with the Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold #2121, both just fitted and checked, engine set up with MCA show as factory black air intake system and chrome MCA valve covers, these wonderful 289cid small blocks are fitted with hydraulic lifter heads that yield high torque and have easy maintenance, the restored radiator has the metal fan shroud for enhanced cooling, the new tune up includes the new points for the checked distributor, a new condenser, new spark plugs, good spark plug wires, then the Fraser Dante special hi tech VR1 20-50 oil with zinc is added with new oil filter, (LINK), brakes just checked (LINK)

Interior: this has original color of the white buckets that are very desired, this looks fantastic with the dark Caspian blue exterior, here is the #1 worldwide color, these very nice white buckets and rear bench seat look great, there are two front blue safety belts, note that when the seats were taken out, the Ford original production tabs with the C4ZB numbers were found under the seats in the metal springs, (LINK), this is rare indeed, there is a proper blue carpet, has a newer radio with note that this even comes with the original AM factory radio (SEE THE LINK PHOTO), note that this very nice interior has a 1965 proper black Ralley Pac, the dash and bezels are as factory, these gauges work, this has an uprated console that many people love, very good looking and useful,

Wheels/tires: the previous owner had used a set of later 1967 Magnum wheels that he liked and even had Caspian color insets painted Caspian, now for Fall 2019, Fraser Dante just installed an expensive brand new set of 1965 14x6 styled steel wheel, chrome lug nuts, red center caps, then a set of excellent Hankook Optimo P195/75R14 narrow band whitewall radials were mounted and balanced (LINK), these look great and very period, the new buyer has their choice of wheels/tires, the correct drum brake system that is correct for this date production car is just rebuilt at Fraser Dante, they work great!! If one desires, Fraser Dante could add the GT front disc brake system by SSBC corporation, this whole build would be accomplished by the Fraser Dante expert staff,

Chassis/suspension: here again, one can see the effort and restoration of this most solid car, the great floors are painted semi-gloss black to show how solid and rust free they are, this presents well thusly as a top Driven Show car that can be shown with mirrors, to enhance the handling, the Shelby export brace is used over the engine bay and the rear of the firewall has the export brace, this will stop the normal chassis flex of a convertible that fit with the new radial tires so this drives even better than new, (LINK),

Summary: a really wonderful and very rare 1965 Mustang convertible, so cool about the rear seat tabs from the factory dated and stamped C4ZB, fully documented, a just rare production with all fresh preparation ready for Fall 2019 shows, a truly unique opportunity, now offered at $54,950
