1966 Mustang GT Convertible prepared in exceptional quality to be in outstanding MCA driven show condition, an extremely original and very authentic presentation, a really just a terrific body and underchassis now shown in just spectacular stock condition with many options, a truly rare find in this condition especially with the full factory options installed including the just rebuilt factory air conditioning system, desired with this four-speed GT, stock lock out shifter, the final work was just done and finished both mechanically and cosmetically to be virtually the ultimate top driven show car in all aspects at Fraser Dante, now well shown with a great body with the Ford stampings throughout in a just a classic, investor quality presentation, showing a body of a really terrific laser straight lines with factory gorgeous Candyapple Red color with full GT white striping, just a beautiful original color, White power top, black boot, strong dated 289 cid engine with very even compression, even the heads show being a very early production dates within 3 days of each other, it is also equipped with rebuilt rare ‘Pony’ 4100 Autolite 4100 4v rebuilt carburetor, Ford C6 intake,  this proper 'A' code dated engine block with dated hydraulic lifter heads is so hard to find so correct today, all aspects set forth as the factory rated 225 horsepower, highly show detailed, brand full new clutch system that works great, a full tune with new show spark plug wires, heavy duty oil and new filter, working factory Air Conditioning system with the expertise and a lot of quality work just completed at Fraser Dante, new condenser, compressor and the whole system that is shown specifically later in this report, restored Ford radiator, fresh coolant and show MCA hoses clamps, has the original Data Tag (LINK) showing history of all aspects, known history via a top Ford guy well known to Fraser Dante, working GT front lights, rear valence with dual exhaust proper chrome tips, show quality all new front proper suspension parts just installed, just refreshed is the fully show detailed sensational red oxide underchassis completed to the highest standards, has full Black Pony interior, black safety belts, desirable factory console, a rare believed original restored wood GT steering wheel, a 1966 quality Scott Drake new Ralley Pac, 1966 styled steel wheels with center caps, lug nuts and trim rings, 5 brand new blackwall radials just installed, or one can have the classic show 6.95x14 dual red line tires, brand new alignment, the fresh front Ford GT disc braking system update just completed,  a brand new fuel tank and system just installed, photos simply do not show how really wonderful this presents with great luster…the chassis is believed to be original before this new prep and very hard to find so good and correct,  this GT convertible is now simply a rare find in just wonderful condition out of the Fraser Dante shop with professional expertise for top mechanicals, presented for the most demanding collector of Mustangs who wants a great stock body and chassis to be so proud of as well as the rare 4-speed and all the factory options, 

History:  here is a rare car that was found in a long time collection and then seldom used by a very serious Ford restorer and knowledgeable person in the operation and build of these type cars, he is known to Fraser Dante for many years, he found the car from a serious collector and sent to his shop to do a number of factory correct restoration mechanicals, then off to Fraser Dante to finish the wakeup and full refresh from its collector’s nap, all to get the fresh mechanicals and suspension on the par to the cosmetics, now to show how correct this car remains today, also see the reproductions of the Ford 1966 GT Mustang information showing about the make of this car (SEE THE LINK), has reproduction Owner's Manual (LINK),

Engine/mechanicals:  this is a correct 289cid proper dated engine that is in terrific condition from all the examination, has very even compression across, has the rare and correct dated Autolite 4100 carburetor show ‘Pony’ carburetor just restored and fitted, these wonderful 289cid small blocks are fitted with hydraulic lifter heads that yield high torque and easy maintenance, these heads are date coded correctly and photos confirm said condition (SEE THE LINK), this has the C6 factory intake,

See the sheet with all the engine and head numbers being so very correct…these stampings and dates are spot on!!! so hard to find such a factory correct engine today, note all of the date codes being so close to the August 1965 as a very early 1966 production convertible, see the 5.H dates of the engine and the heads (SEE LINK), 

Clutch/flywheel: When received at Fraser Dante, since this car has been in a enclosed environment collection for many years, the flywheel was slightly off from the starter as this had been used seldom in the last few years, to make sure that this operates in top notch fashion, now the transmission and full clutch assemble is just pulled, then the flywheel sent to our sub and ‘turned’ to balance perfectly (LINK), then a new outside ring gear teeth installed, then the new clutch stock 3-finger system is now installed, this full unit came from one of top suppliers who only do clutch and drivetrain work, this is top notch and very strong, better than new (SEE LINK),  a new throughout bearing, is used, all installed now at Fraser Dante with all the shift linkage checked for great shifting, (LINK), see transmission numbers (LINK), the new tune up includes the new points for the checked distributor, yellow top coil, a new condenser, new spark plugs, show quality spark plug wires,

fuel: then in order to make sure that this delivers clean fresh fuel, just changed the complete fuel tank, hardware, lines and sending unit (LINK), this will insure great driving,

oil/filter: in order to keep this engine and heads in fine operation condition, Fraser Dante uses the special hi tech VR1 20-50 oil with zinc is added with new oil filter (SEE LINK)

now moving from a status sitting collection type car to improving the car's operation for great show driving is completed in the Fraser Dante shop with the testing being fully completed,

air conditioning/radiator system: A real plus is this has the Ford working Air Conditioning system that is just been refreshed and rebuilt by the technicians at Fraser Dante, here quality work by classic car technicians is just completed, hard to find this knowledge, this system was not used for many years as was only a show car, now the new work includes a newly installed condenser (SEE LINK), a new receiver, new dryer, new clutch assembly, ‘O’ rings, to make sure this works well, now installing the more updated 134a coolant, the system is vacuumed and tested, it really blows cold with the testing completed, this said work took many, many expert hours from the technicians at Fraser Dante, very hard to find people with their talent, harder to restore the stock air conditioning system than to put on a new Vintage Air system, also the stock Mustang restored radiator is just fully rebuilt recently, flushed, checked and fresh coolant added,  the proper show hoses and clamps are used in the final assembly,

Brakes/Suspension: just excellent suspension and braking system that is documented with fresh photos to document, this work for Fall 2018 shows the Fraser Dante shop going through the front disc brakes, brand new GT master cylinder, all the braking system has been checked, front pads are great, (LINK), also, note that this has a restored and sleeved driveshaft so the power is delivered to the factory rear end, work like this is seldom done today and muchly appreciated when one drives the car and this has complete even balancing, see the underchassis photos shown on the Fraser Dante website www.fraserdante.com,

underchassis: here is an area that sets this very top-quality Mustangs apart from the crowd, presented is the a very, very nicely prepared chassis that is in top show red oxide, no undercoating, all the lower panels are believed ‘factory as original’, photos show the extensive hours just completed, also, note the lower side ‘pinch’ welds and the FOMOCO stampings on the lower side rockers, here again is an area that is hard to find so factory after all these years (SEE THE LINK OF THE CHASSIS),

trim/factory show items: note that this car still has the Carlite glass windows everywhere that is also a rare find, all of the six side windows including both the wing glass are stamped as the front large side windows and the rear quarter glass windows still have these Carlite stampings on them, the windshield is also Carlite stamped tinted glass, has the optional day/night rear view mirror, both left and right side chrome mirrors, a Custom Autosound radio, spare tire in the trunk, this has the spare tire, jack, plaid trunk cover and the plaid spare tire cover,

Summary: items like the original air conditioning just expertly refurbished and the extras like the power steering are very desirable extras, a new 1966 Ralley Pac, a 4-speed transmission is very cool, here is a rare find with such an amazing stamped body and virtually perfect lines, here is a car that has a serious worldwide demand for such fine quality, the epitome of classic Mustangs!!! All extensive work just checked at the Fraser Dante shop ready for late Fall 2018
