1952 Chevrolet 3100 5-Window that is a lovely just finished completion of a great resto rod stock bodied pickup with a frame off build ready for Summer 2018, this report has lots of details, photos  and LINKS to fully explain completely said condition, now presenting with the complete proper new sheet metal from fenders to cab to full bed box with a rust free new build, full new 12 volt electricals, this fantastic pickup shows just wonderful as this has a just gorgeous red paint, it is very hard to find such a quality presentation that is equipped with a just built 327cid/4v engine, with the Holley aluminum intake and Edelbrock 600 cfm 4v carburetor mounted on the same dated hydraulic lifter heads, aluminum radiator with this is mated to a new 350 Turbo automatic transmission, GM truck power steering, brand new Vintage air conditioning system just installed, front disc brakes and rear drums for great stopping, newer solid axel rear end, this really special classic pickup is built for top Driven Show, not only is the exterior and running gear better than new, note that this also has just an amazing underchassis, great frame and top running gear, there are even restoration photos (LINK), new proper floor mounted battery and cables, halogen H4 headlights with dual taillights and turn signals, also there are many receipts before Fraser Dante bought this truck and then finished the build in our professional shop, said effort is confirmed by many LINKS of specific numbers and parts later in this report showing what is used in this great build further in this report for exacting information that shows the effort expended, the stock seated interior maroon naugahyde is perfect, the dash is restored and the gauges are working,  the heater system works,  now shown with the new Custom Autosound radio in stock location with the iPod and USB ports, the bed is a gorgeous Oak polished wood with body colored strips,  the wheels today are the new Crager SST 15x7 alloys with Goodyear 215/70/15 new radial tires, a body colored Ralley wheel with wide whitewall tire upgrade is available, the road testing for final completion of this terrific truck is completed for Summer 2018 enjoyment,

history: this Southern truck was initially restored by a man that Fraser Dante met and learned about the build at that point, he told us that he had over $48,000 in the build before Fraser Dante bought the truck, there is one file of receipts that is part of the history with over $10,000 in receipts that he had (SEE LINK), Fraser was thrilled to have such a great vehicle, photos show part of the build for excellent history (SEE THE LINK OF THE CAB OFF) that is finished in the Fraser Dante shop for Summer 2018, said 3100 is a great design, here is one of the most popular collector vehicles of the Millennium, the design from Chevrolet's Advance Design light division started in 1947 and ended with the First Series 1955 truck, has the full correct chrome optional equipment that sets this off as a wonderful show vehicle, new dual chrome exterior mirrors, chrome front bumper along with the rare full chrome front grille looks impressive, chrome rear bumper, very extensive care was taken with this body work and the magnet sticks virtually everywhere, it is important to have full steel trucks for the investment to hold, has just very straight lines to effect the value of these truck, note the cool ¼” pin striping around the cab that is in white along with the white ‘Chevrolet’ on the rear tailgate for a great look, correct Naugahyde factory interior is fully done, the factory correct bench seat, the proper door panels are a factory correct combination of perforated cardboard finish panel with the remainder steel inner door skin, the full headliner is factory correct as well and finished as the door panels, all door handles inside and out are brand new, running boards completely redone with correct black, working horn, full correct gauges and the restored bezels working, hard to find these gauges in  this condition, the speedometer works, has a glove box, the heater is there and working, show quality wood bed just redone with many layers of fresh varnish, see copy of Chevy Truck brochure (LINK),

Body: here is simply an all steel fresh full frame off build that is just completed, all the steel is fresh, fresh with smooth great lines, this is gorgeous flame red paint on the all steel body, the luster of the paint is just perfect, all the glass has been replaced with all new seals and felts,  the beautiful chrome front and rear bumpers with rare front chrome grille, show quality wood bed just redone with many layers of fresh varnish,  really just stands so very tall that it makes you smile, this cab and bed off restoration is presented today with a really great solid underchassis (LINK)

Engine: here is a just completed 327cid 1968 block and engine that is a brand new build, see the LINK of all the numbers,  according to the initial builder who met with Fraser Dante when we bought the truck,  the complete engine was rebuilt from the turned crankshaft, new pistons and rings, fitted with the Holley Street Dominator aluminum intake manifold along with the Edelbrock 600 cfm 4v carburetor that are mounted on the hydraulic lifter heads, finned Holly valve covers on the clean properly dated hydraulic lifter heads, this has an electronic ignition for better performance, mated to the spark plug wires that are 8mm Accel 8mm Hi Temp Super Stock wires, brand new spark plugs, this is fitted with the aluminum radiator and the electric fan, this will cool well for driving in the ‘modern’ world today, here is the optimum power source that makes for easy cruising and low maintenance,

this engine is mated to a new 350 Turbo automatic  3 speed transmission, this links with the Lokar uprated automatic floor shifter, the engine is supported with an aluminum tubular transmission crossmember and a tubular engine crossmember with new side motor mounts incorporated into it, this is a complete new build (SEE ENGINE SPEC LINK),  the exhaust system is fed by performance Shorty headers that lead to the low restriction mellow glass Pac mufflers that exit through period turn down exhaust, one can see the firewall that is so clean that it is showing all the new wiring,  this 12 volt system has a new polished alternator and the new ‘painless’ wiring system install is completed at Fraser Dante,

oil/filter: in order to keep this engine and heads in fine operation condition, Fraser Dante uses the special hi tech VR1 20-50 oil with zinc is added with new oil filter (SEE LINK), now moving from a status sitting collection type truck to improving the truck's operation for great show driving is completed in the Fraser Dante shop with the testing being fully completed,

Running gear:  here one can see that the suspension is all fresh, has a GM later 1960 solid axel that is rebuilt and has fresh dope just checked, also for great stopping, this has the front disc brakes and the rear drums that are just rebuilt and work perfectly in the final testing (SEE THE LINK) ,  the next (LINK) shows the GM 350 Turbo automatic transmission, with the addition of the GM 800 power steering box, this is easy to maintain, costing for the parts alone on this excellent unit is $615 plus the labor to install,  all the final install work with the steering linkage and knuckles is just completed to work well in the final road testing, 

Interior: tile 'IDIDIT' steering column with tri-spoke Billet steering wheel, custom AutoSound radio in the stock locations, new 12 volt factory style gauges, factory vinyl bench seat with factory, correct Naugahyde marron correct factory interior is full done, has the factory correct bench seat, the proper door panels are a factory correct combination of perforated cardboard finish panel with the remainder steel inner door skin,  the full headliner is factory correct as well and finished as the door panels, all door handles inside and out are new, running boards completely redone with correct black, door panels and headliner, all new glass with deluxe rubber gaskets, Interior: an added point are the hard to find full correct gauges that are done nicely, the speedometer works, has a glove box, the heater is there and does work as same with the added aftermarket Autosound radio, new chrome door handles inside and out, brand new Vintage air conditioning unit just installed,

Brakes/axle/suspension:  great attention to the axle and great braking system is given, this has the newly restored more updated solid straight axle fitted with shafts and full lube check of the rear end chunk,  the full braking system is brand new,  all the lines are new in the frame off build,  great effort completed with the front disc brakes and a manual master cylinder, this has full new rear drum brakes, they are mated to the uprated rear axle that is date coded D.12.60 (Apr 12, 1960) from a GM passenger car with casting #3725899 (LINK), the brakes are just checked in the Fraser Dante shop with road testing (LINK),

Uprated wheels: many people like the Crager wheels and radials on the truck now, one can have Fraser Dante gone to another look that many people love, we will add and build the newly constructed brand new 15x7 Ralley wheels in body color, these are purchased in argent and then painted body color, then the stainless trim rings and the chrome Chevrolet hubcaps are added, then the very expensive wide whitewall radial tires that really will add another dimension to the ‘look’ of this truck is someone desires (SEE THE LINK),  this is a $3000 add on with high costing and lots work with the experts at Fraser Dante,

Tailgate: since this has a new full bed and tailgate, this came to Fraser Dante with chrome bolts to hold said tailgate firmly in place with now rattles, one has to hold the tailgate when opened,  now for the final work, a dual set of the polished tailgate chains with covers and ‘S’ hooks are being added to the tailgate, this will look better for shows as one can now open and hold the tailgate,

Summary: here is a just completed full restoration of a classic Chevrolet 3100 with ‘modern’ V8, automatic and power steering,  just a famous Five Window 3100 is set for enjoyment, really a so very nice as a highly desirable Driven Show Vehicle that is ready to go to your Maine House for  Summer 2018 or going to dinner in Atlanta as a cool ‘driver’ in just great classy style, well priced at under the total build costing, with the Crager and blackwall radials, this is only $43,950, if one adds the very expensive to assemble the new body colored Ralley wheels, trim rings, center caps and the new wide whitewall radial tires, then the finished price is $46,950
