History: could be very low mile chassis from condition of chassis and information supplied, see the copy of the Triumph brochure showing this car was always well cared for, a very sporty and clean looking car, we are told that this specific unit was owned by a lady for many years, she just loved this car an d took great care of it including the good restoration work, then this was sold to a friend of this writer who then enhanced the car, then the next step was recently to Atlanta at Fraser Dante into our restoration shop, where the final buffing and polishing for Summer 2018 is just completed as this is prepared for Driven Show conditions, today in 2018, the mileage is showing 48,283 which could be original but not confirmed, just terrific to have this info in the file for history,

Engine: this has great and smooth performance with a car dry weight of 2438 lbs with the strong 2.5 litre engine, it works very well in today’s ‘real world’, with the factory 101 rated horsepower and very strong torque, this should have more horsepower in the 115 range since this has an engine rebuild with the strong compression also has the uprated desirable Anza rear dual exhaust system thusly adding adding power and looks, fresh full new throttle bushings and new linkage connected with new fuel lines to the dual Stromberg Carburetors, numbered 175 CD-2 on both, they are mounted on the Stanpart Aluminum intake manifold proper #V3265, this carb setup is very valuable as they are not available in the reproduction today, then these stock carbs are matched with the proper factory head #V3265,

In order for this very proper engine bay to present well for top Driven Show and also be fresh for great cooling, the brand new set of green very correct factory hoses with the proper clamps are just installed, in this process the coolant is just flushed and replaced,

the Fraser Dante in house British senior mechanic just set and synchronized these carbs, then a compression test is  pulled, very remarkable and strong, 155 to 161 lbs psi (LINK), better than factory when new, then we just checked the engine timing and that is set to factory specs, noted that when the values were just adjusted, strong performance, thusly just right for such an engine with the build standards described when Fraser Dante acquired this TR6,

The Fraser Dante professional shop then did the final road check and just road tested as a very ‘spirited’ driver, new expensive NGK ‘Cooper Plus’ spark plugs, for Summer 2018, the electrics work great, then we checked the level of the transmission fluid was so good that we put in less than 1/2 pint of fluid to top off, then we checked the rear end and the dope is fine, see numbers (LINK),

racing oil/filter: Special Valvoline high performance VR1 20-50 high zinc oil is added along with new filter for engine protection (LINK), note this step is the top racing quality oil that can only engines without a catalytic converter, this has excellent electricals with a brand-new O’Reilly’s ‘Power Plus’ new 12-volt battery just installed, this is the best quality we can find, has excellent cables and connections, the headlights are sealed beam units, all of the lighting is checked including brakes for safety and the backup lights working,

Interior: tremendous effort just expended with brand new work completed with the just beautiful biscuit two tone beige deluxe complete full new bucket seated fully padded seats, these are newly installed in the whole interior that is completed with the matching new very nice door panels, dual cross shoulder safety belts, new beige carpet, this even has brand new expensive cocoa mats that are very upscale, new polished wood dash in excellent condition, very nice dash pod has the Smith’s gauges, all gauges work and are believed original, the oil pressure gauge shows very strong reading, the tach is hard to get and have this working so well, even the Triumph wood gear shift knob that is new with the proper new shifter boot,

Driving: these cars are really fun to drive, the suspension is most solid with attached notes from Fraser Dante showing our testing that was done, when this initially came to us via our favorite custom enclosed carrier even before the Fraser Dante full upgrading, he even commenting when moving this to Fraser Dante that “this TR6 really drives very strongly”, excellent shocks and springs, now in the final testing for Summer 2018, this has no squeaks when driven and really handles as it should,

Brakes:  then upon receipt in the Fraser Dante restoration shop, the braking system is fully checked, the front factory discs are like just new, excellent pads and hardware, the rears are checked for safety, (LINK), brake lines are fresh, they stop this TR6 so well in the spirited driving road test,

Condition: recent updating shows that attention to maintenance has continued for many years, really set for someone who wants to drive a fun sports car with strong performance, the black top is correct and new and has the uprated black TR6 side stripe, a very nice touch has a very good boot, the underchassis is very nice, rust free and so solid and well maintained with the final prep work by Fraser Dante, the paint on said frame is really very good and also to protect said underchassis,

The outside paint is in driven show condition with the rust free presentation, the paint does have great luster with no signs of rust, one can see a very faint bit of solvent minor imperfections on the hood that have come from the engine bay heat and the sun, these are very hard to see but hereby discussed to be very honest and open, just the quality for a driven show car though, the restoration work is very nice to be very proud and enjoy,

the final detailing is completed to a higher level even when found though it was at a show from a seller well known to this writer, the outside white exterior color is just buffed (SEE LINK), this has a very nice luster and makes this pretty paint stand out against the black stripe and the blackwall tires, not a concours paint but a 8.5 out of a 10 that would be perfect condition to drive and be very proud, this is now driven show or a very #2 presentation, the whole body is very straight and so very rust free,

In the nice trunk area with still the solid original floor, rust free, the photos show the proper black paint just applied and so clean (LINK), there is the original stock wheel that is solid and just painted the factory argent color with an older 185 series
red line tire mounted, there is a full jack under the wheel, this also has the proper black carpet kit on top of the solid factory
lift piece in the trunk that covers the spare, the black tonneau cover to fit the inside is stored here, really looks great,

underchassis: a high point of this nice 1974 TR6 is the underchassis and frame, when received by Fraser Dante, this went on the rack of our professional shop, we could see that only two footwells were replaced in a very exacting and proper manner, the important side welds of the floor are very good, like factory, these floors are most solid, with lots of hand work in the Fraser Dante shop, they were fully prepped and are now painted red oxide for both show and protection, the frame is just terrific, very solid and straight, said frame was also then fully cleaned and then painted black to protect and for show presentation, the photos on the Fraser Dante site (LINK) show their actual condition today,

Summary:  here is the last year of the famous TR6, really a terrific British sports car with smooth and powerful straight 6 cylinders, easy to maintain and get parts, Fraser Dante and its team has now done the fresh tune and check just completed show  and driving enjoyment, the full tune and check was just completed by a British car specialist at the Fraser Dante facility, said dual carbs were set and synchronized, all the valves were adjusted, really looks so nice with ‘great eyes’ and really performs wonderful with the final attention with the staff at Fraser Dante ready for Summer 2018, offered at a great price of $26,000
