1970 Buick Custom Skylark '350' convertible presented with the GS hood and new 'GS' emblems for a really striking period 'look', effort just completed with full fresh mechanicals so this can be enjoyed for excellent driving enjoyment for Spring/Summer 2018, it is now restored and presented in very nice Gulfstream Blue that is just highly buffed to yield a pretty luster, proper white power top, black boot, a nicely detailed correct 1970 matching numbered engine with very strong compression, all such complete numbers and casting are shown below, an Edelbrock 4v 750cfm carburetor with a factory 'GS' dual foam air induction piece set on the correct dated factory intake, new full Delco ignition system with new spark plug wires and plugs just installed, dual exhaust system, factory Hydra-matic 3 speed transmission, desirable uprated aluminum radiator and proper air front shroud pieces, all brand new Gates hoses for really excellent cooling, uprated excellent dual line front disc brakes and the rear drums just built, great Super Stock Rally 1 wheels with brand new expensive Cooper Cobra GT P215/70/R14 radial tires just mounted and balanced, new heavy duty Monroe shocks just installed, the underchassis is in top condition being so factory original with recent cleaning and protectants, very hard to find such quality chassis today, believed to be the original black bench fold down interior in fine condition, this came out of collection for many years and was seldom used and now just set up for Driven Show condition, this drives exceptionally with the full professional tune and checking at the Fraser Dante shop,

Wheels/tires/shocks: this has virtually new Super Stock Rally I 14x7 wheels that have Buick center caps and proper lug nuts, now just mounted and balanced are a set of BRAND NEW expensive Cooper Cobra GT white lettered P215/70/R14 radial tires, these look great and make for excellent handling along with the show appearance (SEE LINK), to show how little this nice Buick convertible was used, photos are shown on the tires that we on the car with excellent tread but they were dated 1998 (LINK),

Engine: here is a very strong 1970 Buick '350' matching numbered unit that is presented very nicely for a top stock driven show appearance, this is a rebuilt engine going from the fantastic strong compression of 147 to 154 lbs in a dry cold reading just taken (SEE LINK), one can tell that this does have the VIN# so the exact origin of said engine is solid (SEE LINK), also one can see a '350 with a 3' located on the bottom of the block, note this has the uprated Edelbrock 750cfm 4v carburetor of some $400 in costing that will give excellent power and ease of maintaining, this is mounted with new gaskets on the correct factory casting intake, note the factory 'GS' air system with the dual foam intakes that is correctly mounted and detailed, hard to find this stock great looking unit today, (SEE ALL OF THE NUMBERS ON THE LINK), full dual exhaust system from the stock manifolds,

Of all the GM 350cids, the Buick has the longest piston stroke, note that this design characteristic made the engine significantly wider than the others, the essentially the same as the Buick big-blocks, the 350s over-sized intake manifold and conventionally-angled valve covers resembling those of the big block allow it to be superficially mistaken for larger engine, rated at 260 to 285 horsepower depending on what systems are used, this has a great torque reading of 375 ft/lbs with the hydraulic lifters.

Ignition: Note that this has a full brand new professional tune with the checking of the Delco ignition system, has the A.C.Delco new distributor cap, rotor, condenser, all new spark 7mm plug wires, Delco spark plugs, also has a new alternator installed, the battery is an expensive Delco unit with fresh proper cables and connectors, has the show cutoff installed for battery life, the engine detailing just completed,

Also another fine point is this has an uprated aluminum radiator with all fresh coolant just checked, all the hoses are new Gates with clamps for really excellent cooling and belts are just installed,

Body and paint: one can see from the data tag (LINK) that is a color change that said factory color of the Gulfstream Blue that is very nicely presented, when received, this had been painted a few years ago and not even buffed, to bring up the presentation, the professional high speed buffing is just completed (LINK), looks very nice, appears that very good  sheet metal, from new examination, only the rear quarters were replaced and very nicely done and then fitted while still retaining the factory stampings in the trunk drip rails, takes an expert to even find the well done change, all other metal appears to be original, again, the chassis is ‘as factory’,  (LINK)

The bumpers front and rear are believed to the hard to find original factory units, they got a bit of patina with the age but are just fine to go with the condition of the car today, recently polished,

Trunk: very nice trunk that is just splattered very correctly with the hard to get factory colored turq/gray splatter, then a steel wheel is restored with a spare tire mounted and secured, a new scissor jack, handle and 4-way period lug wrench is mounted under the spare tire, then a new proper show mat is just purchased and installed, (LINK),

Brakes and shocks: a top area of this car is that in the Fraser Dante shop careful check of the running operation of the car, a  new set of Monroe Heavy Duty gas shocks are installed, also this has a new upgraded dual line power front disc brake system, note the fresh master cylinder, when this went through the Fraser Dante shop, as the brakes were checked, now the rear drum brakes and brake lines are just now installed (SEE PHOTOS), in the final setup, the alignment is completed with specs supplied,

Rear end: all signs that this 10 bolt rear end is original from factory, see the ‘numbers’ that are pulled (LINK), now the rear end dope is checked and test driving yields a terrific cruiser that is perfect to go for a cruise for that Summer dinner at your favorite restaurant and park right in front for all to see,

Summary: here is a simply terrific cruiser with the great GS appearance, the recent full cosmetic prep, fresh brakes and top mechanical check is just completed for Spring 2018, enjoyment, now well offered at $23,950
