1965 Mustang Coupe Show Car that is built to have just great ‘eyes’ along with just wonderful full mechanicals and heavy duty suspension, the just fantastic Rangoon Red body with a base/clear paint is presented that has just amazing luster, has the white GT striping plus the lower stainless rocker moldings along with all new chrome pieces having the front GT lights with the option side chrome front show ‘gills’ by the bezels, just a ‘Iconic’ presentation, a fresh rebuilt and very strong 302cid engine dated engine is equipped with 289 heads that have hydraulic lifters just set, this has very, very strong compression, restored Autolite 2100 carb that works perfectly, Cobra kit under the hood, aluminized dual full GT proper exhaust system and mufflers, has a strong clutch that is mated to the 5-speed Borg Warner T-5 transmission, great stock style shift linkage, the terrific Red Pony interior has great bucket seats that have been restored with new padding, this even features a 3 point safety belt system, then the interior side panels are done in the standard red with all new trim which is the best look, updated ‘modern’ large console, full new red carpet and mats, the restored padded dash is as new, all gauges, new stock factory steering wheel, the Vintage Air Conditioning works just great especially in the coupe, just installed now is an aluminum radiator and new hoses installed for great cooling, Ford Power Steering, front dual line disc brakes, new rear drums, brakes just checked, has the Shelby heavy duty 1” front sway bar, this has a Monte Carlo bar and the one piece export brace mounted under the hood for great handling, has the GT rear exhaust and valence, 5 x 1965 styled steel wheels, 205/70/14 radial whitewalls, uprated sound Kenwood AM/FM with CD system with Memphis rear shelf mounted speakers, under the hood is clean as a bell to match said really a terrific build for Driven Show! The underchassis is very solid with no rust showing the build, black painted show detailing, dual outside chrome mirrors, final work with all fluids just completed again for Fall 2017, a real plus is that a customer is a able to speak to the talented Fraser Dante team about condition, Striking look with wonderful mechanicals!

Engine:  a very strong point about this great Mustang is the engine! This was found at a show by Fraser Dante who are experts in Mustangs, this came from another dealer who is well known to Fraser Dante, according to the last owner, this engine has but 2000 miles on the build, then from the actual examination of the engine by the Fraser Dante restoration team at our shop, we can tell that this engine is fully rebuilt, better than new as this has the block casting of DZOE-6015-AB that is a improved 302 cid block, the heads are 289 units with the dating of 6.d.18 #13 1966 showing, these are clean as a bell with the chrome valve covers off, with the great work from the initial builder, note that the dry cold compression reading of 155 to 162 lbs just taken, this is far better than factory new (SEE LINK), these hydraulic lifters are just set by the Fraser Dante Senior tech, the exhaust system is a full GT aluminized build with new mufflers that exits the rear GT valence, all the wiring is new for the ignition, the timing is set, fresh spark plugs and the plug wires are new, attention to details with a restored Autolite round case alternator, new starter, new water pump, thermostat, stock style ignition system with painted yellow top coil, has the C6OE-9425-A casting on the stock intake manifold,, this has a rebuilt Autolite 2100 2v carb unit installed, see numbers (LINK), even still has a correct tube, new HiPo exhaust manifolds with new H-Pipe dual aluminized exhaust system that are fitted with correct GT tips (LINK), these manifolds that were used on the ‘K’ codes give more power and are newly cast to look as factory, this should now produce about 230 horsepower instead of the original 200 due to these very desired upgrades, this engine just sounds so smooth,

all new belts, new hoses and clamps in the engine bay, these are part of the just installed aluminum radiator that will cool better and is painted black to look relatively stock but able to drive in the ‘real world’, a new fuel tank kit for clean delivery of fresh gas, has the gas intake system and new sending unit installed, it takes lots of professional effort to accomplish, steel fuel lines to the front of the car, (SEE LINK OF INSTALL), has the new full tune up that includes the new points for the checked distributor, a new condenser, the road testing,

oil/filter:  the oil and filter are now changed and upgraded to protect the engine, Fraser Dante uses very expensive special high-tech racing oil with added zinc content with Valvoline VR1 20-50 to insure long term performance, since today’s gasoline and standard oils have cleaners added, these early non-catalytic e engines need the heavy duty oil and the added zinc for lubrication purposes (LINK) for these older engines, this process is very costly and used only from shops who have top operations as Fraser Dante,

transmission/rear end: here again this is set up to be able to drive in the ‘real world’ with the expensive uprated Borg Warner T5 transmission, this unit is great with the high gear making this easy to drive at reasonable speeds on the interstate highway, this has a stock looking gear shift, the rear end is a 8” unit with the 4.l.30 dating, the rear end dope is just checked, the axel seals good, easy to drive, 

history: according to our friend from whom we bought the car from, history shows that a senior Mustang collector initially built this car in the Dallas area, he moved this to the East Coast and ended up with our friend, there are lots of photos of the extensive photo documented restoration (SEE LINK), a passenger lower floor is nicely replaced, rust free condition, well done new rear quarters that look factory original and are straight as an arrow, great body,

chassis/suspension/brakes:  again is the strong point of this great 1965 Coupe is the solid restored underchassis and fresh strong suspension, (LINK), starting in this area, one can see the under hood chrome factory later Mustang one piece export brace and the Monte Carlo bar, these will stop chassis flex, the strong front and rear springs were replaced in the restoration and the attitude of the car very straight, these units are supported by fresh shocks, now equipped with the Shelby 1” sway bay in a unit that couples together to a make this handle well, this tracks straight and runs well, has the upgraded dual line disc brakes for safety, they are just checked, the rear drums are just refurbished in the Fraser Dante shop, all hardware and fresh fluids, (LINK),

wheels: this has FIVE of the expensive 1965 styled steel wheels that are new, highly polished, proper lug nuts and center caps, this includes the spare, the tires are 205/70/14 radial whitewalls with great tread,

Summary:  here is a really hard to find just a drop dead gorgeous 1965 Mustang that is restored in top quality for a top driven show car with air conditioning and a 5-speed transmission, the appearance and driving abilities can win a show, just out of the Fraser Dante shop, this is our best classic Mustang coupe we have ever had, offered at only $31,950
