1984 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade in Driven Show condition finished in the beautiful Garnet Metallic Burgundy or deep factory red that is a great contrast with the ‘Renegade’ logos, it is believed to be the original paint that is just fantastic, has proper side and hood striping, great frame and underchassis, rear mounted spare with cover, the famous strong 4.0 liter 6 cylinder motor is freshly maintained, all fluids and plugs, stock appearance and highly detailed, mated to the 4-speed transmission with the low gear shifter, these engines featured the strong torque of the 258 cubic-inch straight six, it used a 3.73 rear end gear to connect with the 4-wheel drive,  this still has the rare original black Jeep soft bikini top with new plastic installed with the factory Jeep tags still attached, full padded roll bar, the bucket seated interior is like new, has front safety belts along with dual rear seat belts,  has beautiful Factory Road wheels, restored argent steel with new chrome trim rings and chrome center locking hubs, virtually new B.F. Goodrich radial All-Terrain TA 31x10.50 R15 LT tires, since this has the original paint, the front chrome grill cover is just added to look good and protect the original paint,  then additional hood black decal is added for a striking appearance and stop the glare from the sun, this package looks terrific with this factory Renegade package is just striking, has both power steering and power brakes, the brakes have just been checked at Fraser Dante to work well, all lights are working, a special show sign is included, really a great fun piece!

Chassis and condition:  from information received from the last two owners, this came from California where it was for many years, then to the Carolinas,  obviously well cared for, it is thusly in rust free condition, note that the photos shown on the underchassis shows this is really exceptionally rust free and just cleared to protect, one can see from close up photos just taken that the frame is so solid, very clean and painted to maintain through the years, (LINK), all of the suspension pieces are clean with good rubber and bushings,

Interior: these bucket seats all appear to be factory original to this writer’s knowledge and that of the last owner,  they are black with the textured inserts and the factory stitching that is only found in the original material, the padding is great, these have front cross lap belts and the rear seat has two lap belts, the full black carpet is replaced and is as new, has black floor mats, the front black padded dash is in terrific condition, all the proper gauges work in the testing, this has an added Pioneer AM/FM Cassette radio that is added,  also, recently the last owner added a 12 volt plug under the dash for an iPod or an iPhone,  all very clean inside,

Engine:  completely stock under the hood and highly detailed, this is the very famous 4.0 liter inline 6 cylinder that is most reliable, with excellent dry reading compression from 154psi to 160psi across (LINK), with this 242 cid displacement, it produces 173 horsepower at 4500 rpm, the very strong torque is 220 lbs at only 2500 rpm, this is great pulling power, this writer had the engine in a Jeep Cherokee with great road success, this has the correct exhaust system with both muffler and the catallic converter,

With the 4-speed gears that are used for bad weather conditions along with the 2-wheel for normal driving, this is a fun and nice to use gear setting,

Summary:  here is a really hard to find 1984 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade presented so one can enjoy and win a show, just out of the Fraser Dante shop, offered at a only $23,950

History of the Jeep CJ-7:   this new model featured a wheelbase 10 inches longer than  the CJ-5 with its rear curve of the door cutouts that made it hard to get in and out, a great improvement,  the upgraded chassis consisted of two parallel longitudinal main ‘C’ Section rails that helped improve handling and stability, the rear section of the chassis was extended out to allow the springs and shock absorbers to be mounted closer to the outside of the body, really loved by America], from the 1976 model year for the next 11 years of production with an amazing 379,299 were built, very few are still in this fine show condition some 37 years later!
