Engine: 289cid engine C5AE that shows that that is full unit was rebuilt with about 9000 miles on the initial rebuild, it was used as a driven show car, then when purchased at Fraser Dante, the goal on this gorgeous 4-speed car was to improve the performance, this engine was pulled out of the car and gone through again for Summer 2017, (LINK), full engine bay detail while engine removed (LINK), the engine is fitted with +.040 over dished pistons yielding about 301cid today,these were selected to use modern 93o octane gas, continuing work on engine install (LINK), this engine was fully checked with the lower end by Fraser Dante as shown in photos (LINK), then the lower end crankshaft is checked by our senior builder with the plastigage to insure proper oil clearance on the crankshaft bearings, then this has new fresh bearings, to freshen the engine for top reliability, now installed are a new water pump, expensive $111 timing cover chain and new gears for excellent timing, all new full Felpro gasket set used throughout for top quality seals, new oil pump installed, top of engine casting numbers (LINK),

Uprated Camshaft: A new full and uprated Performer’ hydraulic Edelbrock #2122 camshaft and full lifters kit, (LINK), operating in a range from 1500 to 5500 RPM, this High Energy camshaft provides excellent mid-range power with a mildly rough and cool idle, Cam and Lifters with set of 16 sure seat Valve Springs, 1.354 outside diameter with 90 lbs seat pressure (SEE THE (LINK) OF THE CAM AND KIT), estimated 270hp with these upgrades, the intake system has been upgraded to GT specs with the 4v restored Autolite 4100 carberator completed by the senior Fraser Dante tech mounted on the stock 4v intake, (LINK), new rocker arm studs and heads redone, (LINK),

Valve covers:  to make this engine look like the top quality show performance engine it is, a brand new set of very expensive brand new COBRA OPEN VALVE COVERS (SEE LINK) are just installed with the Felpro gaskets,  Cobra Open finned valve covers are correct for such a powerful engine and very expensive, the engineering accomplished on the heads and cam is Fraser Dante’s ‘Gold Standard, 4-speed top loader C5AR transmission with wide bolt pattern, fresh lubricants, new Hurst shifter linkage, (LINK), brand new heavy duty ‘RAM’ clutch system (LINK) just installed, turned flywheel, this is the best clutch available for the 289/302 on the market, installed by the experts at Fraser Dante, see PHOTOS of work being done after engine re-install,

Cooling is excellent with an uprated 3 row radiator, all fresh proper show hoses and clamps, fan shroud, fresh new coolant just added,

Important exhaust note: the following report shows that the engine just pulled, then the brand new uprated ‘K’ code exhaust factory manifolds and keepers installed, (LINK), the brand new aluminized GT 2 ¼” full ‘H’ pipe exhaust and dual muffler system, all new hangers and bushings, great sound and performance, proper GT rear valence, this took a lot of professional time and money for this exhaust build, 

The full tune: when the engine build was completed, then all new factory correct show hoses and clamps, new coil, new spark plug wires, all wiring thusly excellent, said timing checked and road tested, fresh cap and rotor,

Racing oil/filter: Special Valvoline high performance VR1 20-50 high zinc oil is added along with new filter for engine protection (LINK), note this step is the top racing quality oil that can only engines without a catalytic converter,

Interior: very nice desirable blue and white Pony interior, new white hump hugger center console, has the Ford working air conditioning system, new rare and hard to find working 1965 6000 rpm Rally Pac, redone dash is very nice, safety belts, power steering is the variable ratio Borgeson power steering (LINK)

Braking/Suspension: for both great stopping and being authentic, this has a full set of the brand new Stainless Steel ‘GT’ manual front disc brakes just installed (LINK), this was and had the ‘C’ code drum brakes when the car was acquired by Fraser Dante, now these brakes that are installed are the best available just for the GTs and top notch restorations, the SSBC system is the best on the market, has the all the full hardware kit is used to insure great stopping proper ‘GT’ large oval master cylinder, has the full rear factory drum brakes just checked with fresh hardware for safety, (LINK), this the same hardware that Fraser Dante used with the Charlie Kemp 1965 GT 350R Model that sold for $984,500, these are the best brakes that were legally allowed to use on the car for authenticity,

Driveshaft: the driveshaft is taken out, sent to a specialist, balanced with new bearings, detailed and reinstalled (SEE LINK), this operation is expensive and dramatically improves smooth driving, new shift linkage fabricated (LINK),

expensive brand new, new 1965 show chrome styled steel wheels with center caps and lug nuts, new dual redline 205/70/14 B.F.Goodrich radials, fully balanced, has top suspension, (LINK), fresh new shocks, good springs, note that the 1” Shelby HD sway bar with bushings is installed (LINK), full alignment just completed (LINK),

History: found by a fastidious collector in North Carolina who had for a number of years, such good care in his ownership that he and his wife built a serious garage just for this car and his cruiser Harley, note that the ‘ 65 and ’66 Mustang convertibles are very collectable everywhere,

Underchassis and Floors: just completed and documented terrific full red oxide underchassis, floors are in fine shape with only some minor footwell work through the years, uprating now completed out of the Fraser Dante shop, many hours spent bring up to top driven show standards! (LINK)
