Here is a fully restored 1968 GTO convertible built to great specifications for TOP driven show with top mechanicals and cosmetics, rebuilt correct 400cid engine, 4v, full dual exhaust system, automatic, power steering, power disc brakes, full PHS history of this beautiful color combination, the 1968 GTO convertible in Meridian Turquoise with Ivory White buckets, console and white top for sale is a frame off work finished in Atlanta for Spring 2010, excellent underchassis that is detailed for driven show, an original factory color combination that is really gorgeous, with the period color and the white interior, excellent disc front brakes with full system completed, (see the PHS documentation LINK), this terrific 1968 GTO Convertible looks wonderful with ‘great eyes’ and drives exceptionally, full road testing just completed to make sure all systems work,
ENGINE: the 400cid block correctly coded but replaced engine has a complete rebuild with pistons, crank, rebuilt heads, a fresh 4v carberator, this is a “Jet’ Rochester 4v expensive unit that is just installed for optimum street performance and reliability (SEE LINK), mounted on a correct 9794234 intake dated manifold, all producing at least the strong 350 horsepower, note the excellent compression of this fresh engine (SEE LINK), the attached NUMBER SHEET (LINK) that shows this is a ’67 dated 400cid 9786133 block, full rebuilt correct heads, both are numbered L.08.7 with ‘6’ markings, the intake manifold highly detailed engine compartment just completed, proper GTO air cleaner, full dual exhaust system, nice ‘rumble’ to the dual exhaust system with this ‘fresh’ engine build,
the body on this aggressive rounded shape has been exceptionally restored to an outstanding condition with wonderful base coat/clear coat, entire car is in outstanding condition for top driven show, the body is really superb with effort that took over 4 years to finish, the hard to do rounded sides have been worked to be extremely smooth and are fantastic, the doors sit out a slight bit that is very much like the factory did originally, the Meridian Turquoise paint is base coat, clear coat just finished with the final buffing, this couples with the new white top that had its frame blasted and primed first, when the top is down, this has the original color outside along with the newly redone and original color of the white/parchment bucket seated interior is finished as new, full padding, the factory console is also refinished, the side panels are new, the dash is redone, all to very nice driven show standards, the dash pad is new, has a nice steering wheel, with the white top, this is a pretty color combination (SEE LINK TO PHS), all the chrome on the car including the bumpers are new, all the emblems are correct, the excellent floors are nicely detailed, springs, excellent underchassis showing the full restoration, (LINK), GTO correct wheels, radial red lines expensive tires,
Suspension includes fresh alignment with specs, the engine has been built to such high standards with excellent compression, the suspension is new and completely rebuilt, fresh tie rods, ball joints, new springs and other proper equipment to make sure this car drives well, then the car is aligned for true driving, four brand new shocks installed, this is the type of work that separates the quality, hard to find such a solid car, the initial restoration work was completed in the south Atlanta area, final restoration work was done in the Fraser Dante shop, the past owner spent over $40,000 plus the car and then Fraser Dante finished the restoration and the final work for Summer 2010 with systems and road check, all of this effort to make this a top GTO convertible for top mechanicals and beautiful cosmetics Meridian Turquoise, with the final work just completed, this has an excellent price for a GTO with outstanding standards, $32,950
